    Additional Notes

The need for quality workers in Central Illinois is increasing in most industries as shown in the IDES State of Illinois Industry Employment Projections to 2026. Help wanted signs and advertisements are ubiquitous throughout Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Moultrie, and Shelby Counties. Many businesses have been forced to limit business hours and/or reduce services offered due to a lack of acceptable applicants for open positions. Local restaurants, retail establishments, and manufacturing businesses are actively seeking out workers that possess the job skills and personal attributes necessary to be successful employees. The need for career and technical education has perhaps never been greater as schools are being asked to provide the education and training necessary to facilitate the transition between K-12 education and participation in the workforce. As the rapidly changing needs of employers continues to evolve, CTE will likely play a key role in matching freshly graduated job seekers with employers looking to fill positions.
