Data Science Manager

Hybrid - Paris

0.4 FTE - Contract

This role will lead the storage and computation requirements of the scientific team, including bridging scientists and the bioinformatics group, assist the team in the design, provide IT solutions and resolve bottlenecks.

Experience required in managing the delivery of IT services in biotech or in the biopharma industry.

Responsibilities

• Improve the management of the company's scientific data (migration, storage, traceability) and assist the scientific team in their data queries technical needs
• Ensure the technology operations are effectively aligned and integrated with the corporate strategy
• Generate actionable insights for business improvements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quantative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
• Solid Python programming experience
• Experience with cloud-based platforms such as AWS (S3 and EC2) is required
• Knowledge of data modeling, data governance, and systems architecture
• Knowledge of agile software development processes and SDLC deliverables
• Fluent in English
• Someone who understands the IT infrastructure
• Strong AWS experience
• Can be in Paris once a fortnight. Ideally based in France
• Understands the differentiation between scientific data management and data management
• Communication skills with people from different backgrounds/ IT experience levels

We are looking for someone who can help to develop the IT infrastructure, take care of the migration to AWS. Understand the right way to treat scientific data from an IT perspective.
