Job Summary:


This position reports to the Category Senior Manager - Utilities for the EMEA region and is responsible to support delivery of Equinix's Global Energy and Sustainability strategy in EMEA.

The role will be part of the team leading the Equinix Energy Procurement and Sustainability program and will work globally with other project teams and stakeholders to provide strategic support and leadership to deliver the program in the region.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for daytoday management of energy contracts across various markets in EMEA
  • Engage with energy consultant to monitor market trends to understand technical details around available electricity products
  • Provide analysis and research support for commodity, noncommodity and regulated price elements in support of budget forecasting and identify opportunities for the optimization of these costs
  • Support development of annual energy budget including supporting the FP&A team with Qtrly MPQs, monthly accruals and reporting on regional performance against budget
  • Provide analytical and research support in development and management of renewable energy procurement strategy to support overall longterm corporate sustainability objectives
  • Provide analytical support in assessing renewable energy PPA opportunities across the region including performing market analysis of sustainability products to meet global goal
  • Work with internal teams and energy consultant to ensure full participation in key program elements so that resulting data and information is sufficiently detailed, complete, accurate, and auditable so as to be used for external reporting agencies such as Global Reporting Initiative or Carbon Disclosure Project
  • Establish and manage relationships with internal stakeholders including supporting the Utilities & Energy team, Global Operations, Accounting, Sales & customers, Investor & Analyst Relations and Marketing
  • Regularly present internal/external groups as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in energy sector (Buyer / Supplier / Utility / Energy Consultancy) and/or sustainability experience
  • Numerate or analytical degree in a science / engineering / economics / business / similar discipline
  • Broad understanding of Power Purchasing Agreements (PPA's) in EMEA including experience with financial modelling & analysis of PPA's
  • Excellent quantitative and analytical capability including data analysis and ability to present complex data
  • Ability to build strong relationships and work collaboratively with the local and international teams within the company
  • Professional and selfmotivated with the ability to be officebased and to work remotely
  • Demonstrated ability to work and learn independently, with guidance and direction from manager
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, successfully interfacing with all internal and external stakeholders
