This Regional Sales Director has responsibility for leading a team of Account Managers/Account Directors in Europe to achieve sales/earnings growth targets.

The Business Development department is responsible for identifying, negotiating, and securing new development and commercial supply of softgel and oral solid business for pharma (Rx & Gx) products with new and existing customers, and for managing business relationships with current customers


The Role

  • Develop and execute regional sales strategies to effectively drive short and longterm growth for Catalent and our partners.
  • Drive development and new business creation within our current and future customer accounts and collaborate with customers to drive innovation to grow the business.
  • Work closely with the site Senior Leadership Teams, including General Managers, to ensure efficient customer communication, to optimize customer satisfaction and to support implementation of efficient processes for the business development supporting activities performed by the site (e.g., quoting, financial reporting, etc.).
  • Engage with Key Global and Regional Accounts by identifying and building relationships.
  • Research and maintain uptodate information on pharma markets in the assigned territories regarding both customers and competition.
  • Oversee the daytoday requirements of the business relationships including pricing, contract extensions/amendments, forecasting, periodic business review meetings, and other customer servicerelated issues.
  • Drive in collaboration with Legal and Finance the preparation and negotiation of development and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure compliance of the sales team with strategic selling methodology, negotiation process, salesforce CRM reporting, and Catalent's internal Compliance Wire training assignments.
  • Participate in internal sales training efforts, internal process teams, trade shows and professional associations as required.
  • Collaborate with Sales Operations Team to manage Incentive Compensation Plans for the team and ensure team adherence to salesforce reporting requirements.
  • Support A/R in terms of prevention and mitigation to the resolution of overdue payments.
  • Partner with Marketing and Inside Sales targeting and driving lead generation.
  • Partner with Commercial Operations to ensure contractual terms are enforced, to manage pricing adjustments as well as contract renewals and to enable an efficient quotation process.
  • Ensure regional teams' strategic direction is consistent and closely aligned with the Corporate strategic direction and represent the pharma business at relevant Corporate workshops.
  • Contribute to the implementation of new and innovative ideas across the business.
  • Contribute to the growth of the overall business in terms of both new products and customers.
  • Develop and maintain a succession plan as well as a personal development plan for each team member.
  • Ensure resources are properly sized at all time and work on retention and recruitment as needed.
  • A Higher Business degree is required, MBA preferred.
  • You have a relevant experience in CDMO Pharma businesses.
  • A blend of sales and marketing background preferred.
  • You are be able to work autonomously and demonstrate superior leadership disposition (poise, business acumen, results orientation, and good judgment).
  • You have experience developing and executing customer strategies.
  • You are familiar with marketing and innovation functions. Able to interface at high levels with customers and internal management.
  • You are a leader and have experience in running teams.
  • You experiences working in a matrix environment.
  • Proven ability to organize and plan work, manage travel and balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent oral, written, spoken and presentation skills in English.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • You are able to work effectively as a member of crossfunctional teams.
  • You can interact effectively with scientists and technical staff from customers and within the Catalent organization.
  • You are willing and able to travel in the Region (not less than 50%) to visit clients, as well as meet with clients in Catalent's manufacturing facilities, primarily in Europe.
  • You are willing to attend international Sr. Management meetings.
  • You are resident in a European country where Catalent has an office
