You will be working within a legal team that provides support for the activities of AXA XL France on a wide range of legal matters (both French and international).

What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Being the point of contact and acting as a true "Business Partner" for several underwriting departments.
  • Independently managing various projects and deadlines, especially regarding the implementation and monitoring of new products.
  • Conducting legal monitoring, participating in updating the legal culture, and providing training to underwriters, underwriting assistants, sales representatives, and claims handlers within the company.
  • Offering underwriters and underwriting assistants solutions that comply with applicable law and meet the needs of AXA XL's clients and partners.
  • Assisting AXA XL teams with questions/issues related to international programs.
  • Providing support to AXA XL's crossfunctional international teams (Underwriting Delegations Governance, Claims Delegations Governance).
  • Reviewing and validating various contractual documents (Confidentiality Agreements, mandates, brokerage protocols, commercial contracts).
  • Supporting the actions of the European/International Legal team at the local level.
You will report directly to the Senior Legal Counsel France.

We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:

  • French private law lawyer, with a degree and a minimum of 3/4 years of professional experience within an insurance company or brokerage firm.
  • Experience in a law firm would be appreciated.
  • Broad knowledge of insurance law, common contract law, and civil liability law.
  • Excellent writing skills, particularly in contractual matters.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment with rapidly changing needs and priorities.
  • Proactivity, ability to work independently, and aptitude for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and pedagogy.
  • Openmindedness.
  • Great responsiveness and ability to manage workload autonomously.
  • Team spirit.
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential.
