The Group Health and Safety Department is recruiting:

A Health and Safety Manager (M/F)

Position Based in Courbevoie with frequent travel


The mission of the Group Health and Safety Department is to promote, facilitate and contribute to improving the Group's health and safety performance and to build a strong health and safety culture for everyone in the Group.

To this end, the Group Health and Safety Department proposes and establishes Group policies for the prevention and control of risks relating to occupational health and safety, industrial safety, quality of life at work and crisis management.

It assists the Group's entities in implementing these policies and rules, and ensures that they are taken into account by the entities; the Group Health and Safety Department ensures that the overall process is well controlled.

It leads the network of players in occupational health and safety, industrial safety, quality of life at work and grey matter management within the Group.

The department proposes group action plans; it steers the Group's health and safety reporting, and shares the results and the resulting alerts with the Group's Executive Committee and ENGIE's Board of Directors.

The Group has launched a vast transformation plan for health and safety at the Group level and is looking for motivated profiles to join this transformation project.


General missions of the Health and Safety Manager position:

In general, the Health and Safety Manager is an expert who provides support to the entities and/or countries in the field(s) of expertise for which he/she is responsible.

He/she leads a network of experts in order to develop and promote the Group's policies and standards in the area of health and safety prevention, and to ensure that they are implemented.

The Health and Safety Manager builds a network of internal and external contacts in the areas related to his/her duties.

He/she leads or participates in specific information exchange networks. His/her interpersonal skills are an asset in managing this major part of his/her activity.

Within the Governance, Insurance and Transformation Pole of the Group's Health and Safety Department, the Health and Safety Manager's main missions are related to industrial projects and subcontracting purchases:

  • Reviewing and validating the health and safety aspects of bids for major industrial projects;
  • Oversight of the Group's major and/or most risky projects in terms of health and safety;
  • Support for acquisition bids and assistance during the integration phase with regard to health and safety;
  • Reinforcing the quality and quality control standards for projects, in coordination with the Group's Project Operations Department;
  • Supporting the Group's Purchasing Department in the contractualization of health and safety.


He/she also ensures the proper functioning of the OMEGA digital tool (recording of Group health and safety events), and proposes and supervises improvements to be developed by the Digital/IT department.


He/she provides support to the Health and Safety referents in the countries for which he/she is the point of contact, as well as to the GBUs in matters of Industrial and Occupational Safety, particularly in the area(s) of expertise for which he/she is responsible.


In a cross-functional role, he/she also carries out health and safety audits in the Group: GBUs, Entities, on construction sites and at our stakeholders' sites.

Produces summaries of his or her audits (or audits for which he or she is responsible) and supervises the follow-up of the actions identified by coordinating with the operational entities in charge of implementing them.


His or her teaching and diplomatic skills, as well as his or her ability to explain and convince, enable him or her to disseminate policies and ensure that they are properly understood and applied, all of which contributes to making him or her an identified and legitimate reference.


The Health and Safety Manager organizes and prioritizes his activities freely, in order to deal with the files entrusted to him in compliance with the objectives and deadlines set, the operating rules, internal validation and his delegations.

He/she defines his/her working method, within the framework of the technical choices set and validated by his/her hierarchy.

He/she represents ENGIE in his/her field(s) of expertise with regard to certain external think tanks.
