Candidate Profile

• PhD degree or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geosciences or Civil Engineering
• Strong experience within Geomechanics: minimum of 6 years' experience
• Good interdisciplinary skills (drilling & wells, geosciences & reservoir)
• Experience in building, maintaining and evaluating geomechanical models using industry softwares (Techlog, Geolog, Visage, Elfen, Abaqus, FLAC...)
• Knowledge of programming languages (Python, Matlab, C++, ...) would be appreciated
• Experience in laboratory would be appreciated
• Good knowledge in English

Activities

OneTech is looking for a Geomechanics Engineer M/F who will join the Geomechanics Entity which is composed of around 30 people including Drilling Geomechanics team, Reservoir Geomechanics team, the Geomechanics Laboratory and a pole of specialists and senior specialists. The mission of the Geomechanics entity is to contribute to the safety and performance of TotalEnergies drilling and subsurface operations through fit for purpose Geomechanics studies, for oil & gas activities and CO2 storage projects.

Position based in Pau (France)

As a Geomechanics Engineer M/F, you will have the opportunity to:

• Perform geomechanical studies and take initiatives to develop and promote the geomechanics discipline in various activities and in a cross disciplinary way with other entities
• Provide operational support in geomechanics for wellbore stability and well integrity to contribute to the success of safe and effective drilling operations for both oil & gas production and for CO2 geological storage.
• Conduct reservoir geomechanics studies for subsurface integrity (compaction/subsidence, caprock integrity, fault stability, induced seismicity) to contribute to the success of safe and effective field development for both oil & gas production and for CO2 geological storage.
• Propose solutions to improve the operational performances (reduce the NPT - Non Productive Time, maintain the productivity, enhance the recovery, enhance storage capacity for CO2 geological storage, ...)
• Be active in implementation and utilization of new technology (eg: digitalization), to innovative solutions and methods both in modelling and laboratory tests.
• Support the development of geomechanics discipline through internal and external communications
