GENOPOLE, a vanguard ecosystem to drive industrial growth
Genopole is a pioneering biocluster dedicated to genomics and biotechnologies in healthcare and the environment. The biocluster is located in the city of Evry, France, about 30 kms south of Paris.

On its five campuses comprising 115,000 m2 of buildings and facilities, the biocluster unites academic research laboratories, higher education institutions and private businesses.


The interdisciplinary scientific orientations open to the fellows contribute to several RDI domains in both the academic and private sectors via the 17 academic laboratories and 63 private companies at Genopole.

The main strategic areas are genomics, regenerative medicine & biotherapies and synthetic & systemic biology. These are applied to healthcare and the environment and include a large panel of disciplines.

The ApogeeBio post-doctoral fellowship program gives you an opportunity to join a research team at Genopole, a leading French biocluster for academic research and innovation located just south of Paris.

Conducting Independent Research: Design and execute original research projects within the program's interdisciplinary and intersectoral framework.

Engaging in Collaborations: Participate in international and cross-sectoral collaborations, including opportunities for visits and secondments in both academic and private sectors.

Career Development: Take part in structured career guidance and training sessions, focusing on both research-specific and transferable skills for professional growth.

Dissemination of Research: Actively publish research findings in open-access journals and present at conferences and seminars to disseminate knowledge within the scientific community and to the public.

Adhering to Ethical Standards: Ensure that all research activities comply with the highest ethical standards.

Expanding Professional Networks: Engage in collaborations beyond academia, including interactions with the private sector and other non-academic entities.


These missions aim to develop the fellows as independent and innovative research leaders, equipped with a broad set of skills and experiences that are valuable both within academia and in the wider job market.

Qualifications and Skills:

- _Alternative Research Valuations_: Other forms of research contributions will be considered, such as presentations, participation in scientific training activities, or other recognized scholarly communications.
- _Scientific Knowledge_: A strong and relevant scientific background pertinent to the proposed research.
- _Technical Autonomy_: Independent technical skills necessary for the successful execution of the research project.


Specific Requirements


Genopole's academic teams and companies host scientists from around the world; therefore, a very good command of the English language (B2 level) is required.


Objectifs:

During their two-year tenure in the ApogeeBio program, the fellows are expected to achieve several key objectives:


  • Career Development Plan: Establish a detailed career development plan at the beginning of the fellowship. This plan should outline the fellow's professional goals, the strategies to achieve them, and the resources or training required.

Writing Progress Reports: Prepare two comprehensive reports; one at the end of the first year and another at the end of the fellowship. These reports should document the progress, achievements, challenges faced, and learnings from the research project.

Communication Objectives: Engage in effective communication of research findings and activities. This includes disseminating results through publications, presentations at conferences, and other relevant forums to share knowledge and gain visibility in the scientific community.
