Monitoring brain disorders through speech:

At Callyope, we believe human-centered technology can improve the quality life of millions by making brain health monitoring more objective and responsive.

We create remote patient monitoring solutions to help caretakers detect relapses and find optimal treatment strategies.

To do so, we analyse hundreds of clinically-validated speech biomarkers to provide an overview of psychiatric, cognitive and motor disorders related to brain disorders.

Our first focus will be in psychiatry, starting with major depressive disorder and schizophrenia.


As a data engineer at Callyope, your role will be to lay the foundations for our Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).

• You'll be among the first employees of Callyope, and you'll lay the foundations of our codebase, design and implement our developing processes together with the CTO/CSO.
• You'll design and develop digital products that change the lives of their users, whether they are patients or medical staffs.
• You'll be able to deliver technological solutions that will be used as part of Callyope's research projects.
• You'll be able to collaborate with multiple teams inside Callyope (data, linguists, product) and outside the organization (patients, clinicians & clinics).
• You'll be able to contribute to the tech culture, source and recruit stellar engineers.

You'll be a good fit if that sounds like you:

• Well-versed in Object Oriented Programming such as Python, Java, C#.
• Willing to work with Python, dbt, Django, terraform, cloud services such as AWS, metaflow (but you don't need to have experience with those).
• Selfstarting and entrepreneurial.
• Humble and still willing to learn at every stage of your career.
• Collaborative, enthusiastic about teamwork, learning, and teaching.
• Fluent in English.

Nice to have:

• Experience in medical standards, such as software requirements / specifications, verification testing, and applicable standards (in particular ISO 13485 and ISO 62304)
• Experience in cybersecurity and applicable standards (in particular ISO 27001)
• Experience in deployment of Machine Learning and training models at scale
• Experience in healthcare information standards such as FHIR and cloud deployment on health data servers.
