Purpose of the job:

Respond to a large set of market analysis requests. Develop the Rolling Stock market knowledge through market trends identification, business, and competitor analysis, supported by market quantification data.


Reports directly to:

Rolling Stock Marketing Director


Main Responsibilities

On-demand analysis:


  • On time market analysis for management and key internal stakeholders, ranging from long term support on deep analysis to short term quick verification of market related facts or trends.
  • Ability to find and adapted sources of information (internal or external) and consolidate large nonhomogeneous datasets.
  • Create analysis models for specific requests and propose alternative methods adapted to the available information.
  • Synthetising the analysis and pointing toward pertinent conclusion and next steps.

Recurrent analysis and data management:


  • Compute market data from Wall.

C (Alstom Salesforce CRM), Market Intelligence team, sales, and external sources (UNIFE, SCI Verkehr, etc.) to underline market trends at region, platform, or global level.


  • Provide Alstom's market shares to platform teams, Board of Directors, Rating Agencies, Communication, and others.
  • Estimate competitors manufacturing workload to assess upcoming aggressivity in tenders.
  • Lead and develop the order tracking process and tools, including dashboards.
  • Maintain and provide data on Alstom installed base of vehicles and global installed base.

External market studies management:


  • Provide data to the UNIFE World Rail Market Study (every two years). Check consistency of consolidated results.
  • Assess the relevancy of external studies published on the Rail market (SCI Verkehr, UITP, IAE, Frost&Sullivan, Markets&markets, etc.)
  • Use relevant studies and market analysis requested by platform teams, avoid redundancy, and ensure a reliable information sharing.

Others:


  • Support several Alstom rolling stock and component platform related key processes: New product approval (market assessment), portfolio plan (gap analysis, market comparison, etc.)
  • Coordinate market related monthly KPIs with Rolling Stock platforms
  • Coordinate the Alstom Rolling Stock & Components product structure evolution in Wall.
C, aligning with the platforms needs and ensuring consistency.

Educational / experience requirements & skills

Mandatory:


  • Technical and/or commercial University diploma
  • Master degree (Engineering, Economics or Business administration degree)
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and macro.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
