DESCRIPTION OF ROLE


The Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director is responsible and accountable for the provision of the Win and Business Development strategy and operational delivery of the general sales and marketing activities for the Africa and Middle East sub-regions as part of GPC East.

The Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director reports to the GPC East Sales and Marketing Director and functionally to the Group Sales & Marketing Director.


The role includes accountability, and expectations to work with the Regional Management Team for support of the Win & Execute strategy of the Africa and Middle East sub-region.

Further, the Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director is expected to undertake an active and visible role in the day to day oversight of the Regional performance.


The Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director shall oversee the Business Development Function to identify key Clients and Strategic Partners, determine, develop and execute engagement strategies to develop and maintain relationships.

He/she also supports and oversee the maintenance of the Client and Competitor databases for the assigned Markets, to maintain data on Client Prospects/Opportunities as well as Competitor and Partner activity including their capability/capacity.

The Business Development Function shall also include pursuit planning, Client early engagement strategies and liaison with other functions and Subsea 7 internal service providers.


The Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Director shall oversee PR/Communications Coordination relative to the GPC East Regional operations and interface with the Communications team for internal and external communications and PR activities, including identification and oversight of arrangement/management of Conferences and Exhibitions.


Travel:


  • Travel will be required within the Africa and Middle East Region.
  • Travel Expectation: As-Needed depending on Role requirements; potentially up to +50% at times with multiweek trips.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES

Generic Key Responsibilities & Activities

  • Operate within standardised Sales & Marketing policies, processes and systems.
  • Oversee the Business Development Function and resources.
  • Manage and drive the development and implementation of the strategy and 5year plan for the Africa and Middle East subregion.
  • Oversee maintenance and updating of the Client 365 Database as part of the Sales and Marketing Team.
  • Oversee maintenance and updating of the internal Database for monitoring and tracking Competitor activity and capability/capacity.
  • Support the drive/escalate resolution of problems to the satisfaction of the client and Subsea
  • Develop the Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing Function through clearly understood roles, responsibilities and performance objectives, regular feedback and continuing professional training.
  • Manage the Africa and Middle East Sales & Marketing headcount and identify Business Development resource requirements to ensure necessary resources are available and assigned.
  • Identification of future key projects and contractor/alliance requirements.
  • Allocate Key Account Managers responsible for customer/client relationship to assigned companies and to support the delivery of sustainable business development and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee determination and development of pursuit plans to position Subsea 7 for effective WIN positions.
  • Oversee identification and coordination of attendance at local Conferences, inclusive of arranging and scheduling Executive meetings with key Clients and Partners.
  • Ensure Sales & Marketing capitalises from lessons learned and is performed in accordance with best practice, striving to mitigate risk, promoting safety and integrity consistently
  • Actively engage with Region and BU Functional Mangers to drive improvement and consistency across the Business Unit.
  • Monitor Regional performance and trends, and report and inform on improvement strategies.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
