The Site Manager will have the responsibility to manage the FMC European Research and Development Center in Nambsheim (France, approx. 25 people) as well as the satellite field station in Spain. He/she will lead 2 teams dedicated respectively to Site Operations and Research and Development projects for both synthetics and biologicals portfolio, and all related technology development. Site manager will ensure that strategic investments are planned and carried out in time and that operating teams have the necessary resources to conduct their activities, in laboratory, growth chambers, greenhouse and field. He/she will also be responsible to maintain the permits needed to conduct research activities according to local regulation, GEP certification and FMC standards. In addition to these responsibilities, the Site Manager will be the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders visiting the site and site events organization and will develop the stations to reach FMC sustainable strategy and establish the site as center of FMC Innovation showcasing.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

Leads a team of Researchers, to ensure that their respective R&D program are aligned with global and regional strategies and priorities, answers to FMC business needs, is prioritized with relevant stakeholders and implemented according to FMC safety and quality standards.
Develops team members to their full potential through setting annual goals and performance review while building talent capabilities that are sustainable and adequate for the future growth of the employee and the organization; together with EMEA Development Director ensures development and recruitment/retention of talents.
Together with EMEA Development Director, ensures strong working relationship with Global R&D, Plant Health R&D and EMEA Regional organization.
Defines and implements site development plan (facilities & competencies) to reach business, sustainability and D&I objectives.
Together with Researchers and key stakeholders, promotes, develops and implements a plan to position ERDC and field station in Spain as critical Research centers for FMC Regionally and Globally and to ensure scientific and technical excellence.
Responsible of the French "Good Experimental Practices" (GEP) network and certificate: coordinates implementation and annual update of internal procedures to fullfill French GEP requirements. Acts as GEP expert within his/her team and is main contact with French authorities.
Accountable for the implementation of safety policy and procedures on both sites, ensured by the Site Operations manager and Spanish field trial Station Leader. Conducts annual audits and ensures recommendation are implemented in time. In collaboration with Maintenance team, ensures laboratory and field equipment respond to safety and quality requirements linked with internal policies or local regulation.
Defines and tracks annual budget and strategic investment plan.
Proactively identifies and leads implementation of operational excellence and continuous improvement opportunities.
Main focal point for internal and external stakeholders visits, including large groups of customers from various countries.

ABOUT YOU

We imagine that you:
- have a PhD or Master Degree on Agronomy, Crop Protection or Biology, or similar relevant education and experience
- have at least 5 years of experience in R&D activities related to crop protection including management of an R&D team of > 10 people and R&D facility management
- coordinated successfully Field program conducted according to GEP requirements
- have experience in budget management and some experience in capital investments
- have a strong Leadership and people management competency
- are able to deliver results
