As a Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Safety (RAMS) Engineer, you are a member of a team whose expertise is highly valued by Alstom and our customers.

You ensure that our products are efficient, reliable and safe, so that complex and innovative transportation systems can operate every day.

Because we continually search for new ways to make our products better, you need to be knowledgeable in all innovative technologies that can make mobility safer.

You develop creative methods for analysing system designs and make them perform as expected by our customers.

The role of a RAMS Engineer is interdisciplinary and transversal by essence.

You work on a project from the tender phase to its delivery and beyond in warranty phase, while partnering with a variety of internal and external stakeholders (engineering, industrial, sourcing, customers, railway authorities, suppliers etc).

Within Alstom the RAMS metier is a key contributor in the design of our technical solutions.


What are my responsibilities?

  • Supporting the design of technical solutions that meet the expected RAMS performance of the products and comply with applicable regulations.
  • Understanding the technical specificities of a system to anticipate blocking issues and propose solutions.
  • Being an advisor to other functions to ensure operational excellence and customers' satisfaction.
  • Using dataoriented and predictive tools to deliver RAMS analysis.
  • Proposing innovating tools, methods and products to monitor and continuously improve RAMS performances.

What do I need to qualify for this job?;

Your profile:


  • A degree in electronic, electrical or electromechanical engineering, or equivalent training.
  • Fluent in English.
  • First engineering/validation experience in railway rollingstock, automotive or avionic industry (vehicles)
  • First experience in RAMS analyses, if you have no RAMS experience but a strong technical knowledge in the product (previous qualification) and a great motivation to join this discipline Alstom is able to train you.
