From the EMEA headquarter of Elkem Silicones division, we are looking for our finance department, a:
Financial Controller (F/M)

Research & Technology | German company

You will directly report to the EMEA Finance Director and will be responsible of the Finance controlling of two specific areas:
Elkem Silicones Germany's Financial Controller

The responsibilities are organized into 5 main objectives:

  • Guarantee the compliance with accounting and tax regulation on the IFRS and local GAAPs of the German company. This activity is performed with the expertise of the European Accounting Platform driven by the Global Accounting Manager.
  • Deliver the monthly financial reporting (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, package, and presentation to the Board members)
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Challenge Leaders of the industrial Plant to work on value creation activities and continuous improvement.
Research & Technology (R&T) Financial Controller


The EMEA R&T center is based in France and employs around 170 employees to support the innovation in Silicones for the Region and for the Division.

Real partner of the EMEA R&T team, the responsibilities are organized into 5 main objectives:

  • Perform the monthly closing by validating the Opex and Capex of the R&T department
  • Calculate the quarterly capitalization of R&T projects
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Drive the calculation and validation of R&D grants by dealing with the external consultant
  • Calculate the impairment test for the opened and closed projects
  • Perform adhoc analysis for the R&T team to measure the profitability of the projects
  • Coordinate R&T financial audit with our external auditor.
  • A master's degree in finance or equivalent (5year degree)
  • A first experience acquired in Finance in a multisite environment or auditor's experience
  • You are rigorous, autonomous and have strong analytical skills.
  • You are proficient in the use of planning tools and in financial modelling.
  • You are sociable and sensitive to the needs of your internal / external customers and suppliers.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and French, German is a plus.

  • The position is located in Lyon (France) with business travels in Germany (every 2 months).
