The Materials & Structural Analysis Division (MSD) of Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an accountant to join MSD Software Bordeaux Finance Team.

From images to answers, our innovative software solutions allow scientists and engineers to better address their scientific and industrial challenges.

We offer software solutions allowing imaging data analysis, visualization, simulation and management.


How can you help us?


As an Financial Reporting Accountant, you will work closely with finance and business leadership to help them achieve financial commitments.


We need your support to:

  • Working in compliance with legislation and IMS (required for all)
  • Responsibility for timely deliverables of entity statutory reporting and filings cooperation with accounting team in Brno
  • Identifying and posting of complex journals
  • Account reconciliations management within the range of responsibility
  • Monthly closing activities + reporting within the range of responsibility
  • Communication and cooperation with internal and external auditors
  • Processing of banking entries
  • Support expense invoices approval and payment process.
  • Supporting the monthly Revenue Reconciliation process and backlog calculations.
  • Reconciliation of entity and global revenue allowing loads to CRM on a monthly basis
  • Reconciling the intercompany revenue and ensuring correct Interco treatment
  • Calculation of Royalties quarterly due based upon sales
  • Validation of Commission entries.
  • Develop service reporting model to help ensure backlog is correct, data is maintained in CRM to facilitate better controls and KPI's
  • Support our Annual Budgeting (AOP) and Forecasting process.
  • Assume responsibility of financial support for Admin cost centers.
  • Help to fill all financial reporting including monthly/ quarterly reports (Power BI reporting).
  • Support R&D Tax Credit and Subsidy calculation and documentation.
  • Support adhoc internal, division, group, and corporate requests as needed.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration
  • 24 years of direct experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting preferably within a large, matrixed organization
  • Excel expertise with advanced knowledge of pivots, charts, formulas and modelling
  • Experienced in ERP systems with ability to learn new systems quickly, eg. Hyperion, QAD, Power BI
  • Good written and verbal communication in English with team and other stakeholders due to the high degree of interaction and collaboration across functional groups and multisite / multicountry development
  • Accurate, organized, strong attention to detail and follow through and work well under deadlines
  • Strong analytical view combined with pragmatic attitude
  • Curious, fast learning
