Every year, consumers and professionals from more than 80 countries around the world visit Château de Pommard to learn about the world of wine from Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) professionals and taste the purest expressions of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from villages along the Route des Grands Crus.

From the grape to the glass, guests experience Clos Marey-Monge, a geological marvel, and home to seven distinct clay and limestone-rich plots, now protected as one of the world heritage Climats of Burgundy by UNESCO.

Job Description:

We are looking for an ambitious and proven Retail Wine Advisor to join our team at Château de Pommard. This role reports directly to our Retail Sales Manager.

Your mission will be to educate clients about the Climats of Burgundy and guide them through one of our Wine Tasting Experience.

If you have a natural way of connecting with people of all cultures and backgrounds and experience in fine wine education and sales, this might be your next career move.

Of course, you must also genuinely love Burgundy.


Responsibilities

  • Become an expert and convey your passion for wine and burgundy through our cuvées by embracing Chateau de Pommard winemaking principles
  • Greet guests and make them feel welcome in Burgundy and Château de Pommard
  • Guide clients through Wine Tastings Experiences following our format and script, but adding your own personality and wine background to bring alive the experiences in your own way
  • Exceed your Retail Wine Sales goal each month by introducing clients to our wines and closing sales during their Tastings

Qualifications:


  • 3+ years of successful Wine Education and a Sales position, ideally with fine wines
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) Level 2+, Certified Sommelier, Certified Specialist of Wine (CSW) or equivalent training
  • Demonstrated ability to connect with people of different cultural backgrounds
  • Growing passion for the Burgundy wine region
  • Selfstarter with an entrepreneurial spirit and "get it done" mindset
  • A true sales instinct and comfort with performancedriven compensation aligned with a genuine care for guests satisfaction
