  • The CCAC National Methane Planning Consultant will have the following responsibilities: 1. Develop a comprehensive methane roadmap following the CCAC Methane Roadmap Template. The methane roadmap should integrate input from the National Directorate for Environment and Forests, various government agencies engaged in greenhouse gas inventories and national communications, and other relevant stakeholders from different sectors. 2. Coordinate the preparation of National Methane Roadmap findings for presentation to the Government of Comoros. Ensure an inclusive process involving key stakeholders, including ministries, NGOs, the private sector, and academia, for the integration of recommendations into national frameworks. The roadmap should demonstrate alignment with NDC, climate policies, air pollution control, and key sectors. A collaborative approach should be taken to engage stakeholders in shaping methane reduction strategies.

The expected outputs of the consultancy are:

  • A work plan concerted with ministries to develop the draft methane roadmap
  • A draft methane roadmap following the methodology and quality standards developed under the CCAC National Methane Roadmap Programme (M-RAP) as captured in the M-RAP Methane Roadmap template and its five building blocks.
  • Periodic progress reports
