DuPont currently houses a leveraged competency in risk assessment and toxicology within the Science and Innovation (S&I) function.

This competency supports a broad spectrum of technology and product development across multiple business units, including:
Electronics and Industrial (E&I), Water and Protection (W&P), and Adhesives & Fluids, MULTIBASE, Tedlar (AMT). The leveraged team has a very significant, visible impact on the direction of DuPont's business units.


Senior Exposure and Risk Assessors work in collaboration with the Toxicology Liaisons to these business units and regulatory science personnel, with the goal of ensuring that DuPont products are safe to workers, customers, consumers, and/or the environment, while meeting all applicable global regulatory requirements for chemicals and products.

In addition, Senior Exposure and Risk Assessors work closely with the business units' product stewards, managers, and safety and regulatory experts.

We currently have an opportunity for an Exposure and Risk Assessor to join the leveraged S&I team. The group at DuPont is highly interactive and represents a variety of relevant scientific backgrounds.

The person employed as Risk Assessor will use information from various sources to conduct exposure and risk assessments for specific chemicals, mixtures, products, or articles, considering all relevant exposure scenarios during the life cycle of the material.

Prioritization skills, negotiation skills, and the ability to graciously adapt to change are important in this exciting and rapidly moving environment.

The position can be located in any of DuPont's sites in Europe.


Your key responsibilities will be:


  • Generate exposure estimates using the range of techniques available, from relatively simple calculations to complex modeling tools when exposure measurements are lacking.
  • Review and interpret hazard and exposurerelated information to appropriately conduct the risk characterization using the various global methodologies.
  • When measured data is needed, provide appropriate technical input for study design, interpretation of data and incorporation of results into risk assessment.
  • Interpret all pertinent information and, considering any uncertainties that remain, report risk characterizations results using highly effective written communication skills to ensure that DuPont chemicals and products are safe from the perspective of workers, supply chain customers, endusers and/or consumers, and/or the environment.
  • Communicate findings through verbally delivered presentations in a manner that is effective for both business and scientific audiences nationally and internationally.
  • Recommend and implement method development projects to expand risk assessment/exposure assessment competency.
  • Represent the Corporation on external industry and professional association committees.
  • Exhibit leadership qualities that set a high standard for interpersonal interactions, organizational skills, initiative, team spirit, conflict resolution, decisionmaking and work ethics.

Qualifications:


  • Required Qualifications: _
  • Several years of experience in chemical risk assessment, with particular emphasis in exposure assessment.
  • PhD or MS in Exposure Science, Public Health, Environmental/Health Science, Toxicology, Industrial/Occupational Hygiene or related fields of study.
  • Demonstrated quantitative skills relevant to human and ecological exposure estimation.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic (eco)toxicological endpoints and health benchmarks used in hazard
