  • Purpose of the Role:
  • Affinity and Programme Business (APB) is a centralised function in the Europe (LSM Central) region. The team has responsibility for developing and centralising underwriting strategy, governance, distribution, service and operations, that provides LSM Europe with a consistent capability and enhanced approach to delegated underwriting, coverholder and MGA's. APB is also well placed to capitalise on future changes in the market caused by digitalisation, portfolio solutions and new customer products and services.
  • APB is one of the most important 5 year strategic ambitions of LSM Europe. This role is to provide full holistic oversight, co-ordination and support to the APB Underwriting Manager across all functions and associated processes, procedures, controls and systems necessary to facilitate efficient and effective management and monitoring of APB business.
  • Additionally, you will work with and support LSM's European offices and the growth of APB relationships emanating from these offices.
  • In context, Liberty in Europe plan to grow APB to more than USD200m GWP over the next 5 years with defined profitability ratios for ROE and PTOI.
  • Alongside APB three core pillars (Underwriting, Distribution and Ops/Tech) the role will be taking the new business opportunity from source, working closely with the APB Underwriting Manager and with the APB Management team, APB Ops & Support, the local European Branch Manager/Sponsoring Underwriter and European Distribution Team local member, to work through the process efficiently, collaboratively and systematically.
  • In addition, this role will coordinate and manage the performance monitoring of the existing APB portfolio, across premium bookings and claims activity to identify any adverse trends in underlying profitability.
  • The APB Performance and Governance Assistant will have a fixed reporting line into the APB Underwriting Manager for Continental Europe, based in Paris.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the APB Underwriting Manager in analysing the business, preparing the case file and facilitating the LSM due diligence and approval processes for European APB relationships.
  • Portfolio management and oversight, specifically ensuring all coverholders are up to date with premium and claims reporting, summarising and presenting key performance metrics to the APB Management Team and wider LSM stakeholders.
  • Own and manage the renewal diary and process, ensuring that all renewals are started in advance of notice of cancellation periods. Monitor and coordinate the renewal requirements including, but not limited to, Round Table scheduling, due diligence, underwriting and performance analysis.
  • Support the APB Underwriting Manager with Quarterly Business Reviews (preparation of the deck, meeting notes, actions follow up)
  • Support to the APB Underwriting Manager with reporting requirements to various executive and management committees.
  • Monitor and coordinate external audits with APB Ops & Support Managers and APB Underwriting Manager.
  • Managing special projects as and when required.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and seek solutions through change or modification of processes and procedures and manage the implementation of new models with relevant stakeholders
  • Providing a focal point of contact to LSM's European offices in coordinating, managing and working closely with them to ensure LSM APB processes are fully understood and adopted and queries are resolved Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity.   • Skills and Experience:
  • Knowledge and experience in the European Insurance Markets in APB (affinity, facility, scheme, portfolio solutions and binder) business and processes. Ideally has a positive track record working on APB business and processes, knowledge and experience in the European Insurance Markets
  • Proven experience of APB/Portfolio Solutions insurance operations, portfolio management or a LOB underwriting experience
