- Developing a complete methodology from modeling to post-treatment, through testing validation, of straps for tank mounting on hydrogen storage systems.
- Validating correlation between simulation and test results.
- Strapped tank load cases definition and selection of the most important ones
- Define component and sub-system test specifications to characterize mechanical behavior
- Manage test from planning to follow-up and analyze results
- Perform test vs. FEA correlation assess confidence level and improve CAE methodology
- Insure transfer know-how thanks to guideline redaction and internal training
- Mechanical master degree school
- Interest in CAE method (solver: Abaaus/Ls-Dyna, preprocessor: Hypermesh)

- We are looking for a Trainee - Improvement of the reliability of finite element models of type IV hydrogen tanks to join our team
- Improving the understanding and modeling of the composite part of the H2 tank.
- Validating this modeling by the correlation between the simulation and the test results.
- Monitor the work carried out by the material team, on composite specimens, in order to understand the degradation mechanisms of the composite. Mechanical simulation support will be necessary for this purpose.
- At the reservoir scale, analyze the evolution of the volume fraction and defects within the thickness of the composite shell.
- Challenge the FEM modeling of the composite proposed by the modeling tools. Compare numerical thickness profiles to real ones, by image correlation.
- Retrieve and analyze data from tank pressurization: burst pressure, axial and radial elongation, deformation, etc. in order to correlate the numerical models.
- Propose other measurement methods that can help for the correlation.
- Finally, propose relevant criteria, allowing precise sizing of the H2 tank composite shell.
- Mechanical master degree school.
- Interest in CAE method (solver: Abaqus, preprocessor: Hypermesh and specific softwares for tank composite modeling).
- Comfortable in image processing and computer development.
- Knowledge specific to composite materials, and associated failure criteria.
- Dynamic and willing to work in a team.
- Ready to learn the job in a pragmatic way.
- Interest on test methodology.
- Synthetic with analytical skills.
- Curious and autonomous.

The Center R&D from Bavans, with close to collaborators, develop innovative solutions for sustainable and clean mobility. It is Forvia's global center of expertise on hydrogen storage systems.
