Data Scientist

Nature & scope:


Within the
Research & Innovation department in the Hydrogen Business Line, you contribute to the development of innovative solutions in line with the product and technology roadmaps.

More specifically, we are looking for an engineer with the mission of advancing studies on the
improvement of electrical conversion equipment, in close collaboration with partner teams, universities and research centres.


Main responsibilities:


  • Study, understand and optimise the specific mechanisms occurring in the power supply of alkaline electrolysers and the impacts in terms of performance and operability, with a focus on electrical conversion.
  • Define test protocols
  • Analyse, interpret and summarise test data
  • Prepare and publish technical documentation
  • Contribute to the development and protection of intellectual property
  • Supervise and coach outsourced development programmes
  • Assist with funding proposals, work with funding agencies
  • Work on the preparation of documentation to justify the work supported
  • Be the effective point of contact with research organisations and suppliers
  • Work proactively with cell designers to ensure proper and smooth integration of innovations on the stack feed
  • Propose and implement improvement actions
  • Participate in the drafting of technical documents and in the dissemination of information.
  • Participate in technology watch

Profile:


Technical competencies

  • MSc/PhD or engineering degree in electricity, electronics or equivalent
  • At least 3 years professional experience in a similar position in a research centre, academia or industry and in joint development programmes.
  • Excellent knowledge of applied electricity
  • Experience in designing and testing procedures for electrical systems and interpreting data
  • You will have experience of dealing with international partners.
  • You have experience in the development of industrial equipment (mainly electrical and machine directive).
  • You preferably have knowledge and experience in the sizing and design characteristics of AC/DC and HV/LV conversion equipment.
  • You should preferably have some technical knowledge or experience in one of the following industrial fields in your career:
  • Electrolysis, galvanisation etc.
  • Network injection and synchronisation
  • Knowledge of risk and safety issues on critical equipment (ATEX, SIL) is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and French and the ability to conduct technical exchanges in both languages
  • Previous experience with fuel cells / electrolysers / flow batteries is an asset
