Bringing together 60 experts, Affluent Medical is a French MedTech company specialising in innovative, next-generation, mínimally invasive implants designed to restore essential physiological functions in the treatment of heart disease and urinary incontinence.

Affluent Medical's medical devices are currently in the clinical phase:

EPYGON, 1st biomimetic transcatheter mitral valve ;:

KALIOS, 1st post-operative adjustable annuloplasty implant to address recurrence ;:

ARTUS, the 1st artificial sphincter for the treatment of urinary incontinence that can be remotely activated electronically.

In order to support the development of these devices, we are looking for a:


Human Factor Engineer M/W

This position is based in Aix en Provence (25% travel).


Reporting to the
_Chief Development Officer_, the HFE will be responsible for the human factors activities and documentation required for the design of hardware, software, testing, and commodities for three programmes for Affluent Medical's medical products to produce safe, reliable, easy to use and maintain medical devices that are compelling to our customers.

In collaboration with the Quality, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and R&D teams, you will be responsible for:

  • Participate in all stages of the product development cycle;
  • Provide project teams with HFE data based on field user studies and usability assessments to enable user interface design;
  • Engage with healthcare professionals to better understand their needs, patient needs and the clinical environment;
  • Conduct customer research, including contextual surveys, develop user needs and derive requirements;
  • Conduct task and usability error risk analysis and heuristic evaluations;
  • Lead the execution of formative and summative tests;
  • Prepare documentation to support development activities, including engineering plans, formative and summative study protocols/moderator's guide/reports, task and usage error analysis, and technical reports.
  • Balancing the creation of an ideal user experience with business objectives and timetomarket;
  • Plan & execute of human factors activities throughout the product development cycle to ensure that products are safely and effectively by our customers
You have a scientific degree (Bac+5) in mechanical engineering, industrial design or electrical engineering.

You will have at least 5 years' experience in Human Factor projects / in UX in DM environment.

You have a solid knowledge of the regulatory framework (MDR 2017/745, ISO 14971, IEC You know at least one of these design tools (Sketch, Figma, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Zeplin, Balsamiq etc.).

You are necessarily fluent in English.

You are details-oriented and are used to working with a start-up spirit in a dynamic and innovative context. You have a strong interpersonal and communication skills within multi-disciplinary teams.
