  • To staff projects worldwide
  • To ensure the transfer of key competencies between different locations

In ALEC, as a Center of Expertise in International Mobility, we define the policies, processes, compensation packages & benefits for international assignments and support HR teams in the management of expats from the start of the assignment (package & contract preparation) to its end (repatriation or localization).

We ensure fair treatment between employees thanks to objective policies and eligibility criteria adapted to business needs.


Compliance and safety in terms of immigration, labor law, social security, taxes or payroll to name a few, are our top priority when it comes to accompany our colleagues and their families in their internationality experience.


Key responsibilities:


  • The International Mobility Coordinator (IMC) is in charge of managing individual mobility files within a defined scope (Host country approach), in compliance with Alstom policies
  • He/she supports and provides expert advice to Home & Host HRs on the most appropriate mobility scheme for each internal move as well as in specific country or individual situations along the expatriation
  • He/she monitors the assignment process from beginning to the end with home and local HR stakeholders and accompanies the assignee in all International Mobility related topics during his/her expatriation
  • He/she leads or participates in Transversal Projects related to International Mobility
  • He/she contributes to the training of new HRs
  • He/she ensures all International related documentation as well as the International Mobility related softwares are up to date for his/her scope in order to comply with external and internal requirements

Detailed responsibilities:


  • To manage individual files
  • To check and validate the applicable policy / set up provides advice on the most suitable mobility scheme when required
  • Provides international mobility technical expertise & explains the policies and the cauculation methodologies to HR and C&B stakeholders
  • Prepares and presents the international mobility conditions to assignees in an understandable way with the support of the HR contact in the home and host unit
  • Ensures compliance of expatriation contracts with international mobility policies
  • Provides the necessary payroll instructions in order for local payroll teams to implement the international mobility conditions
  • Prepares cost estimates for tenders and for individual files for mobility approvals
  • Coordinates the activation of services & benefits (relocation, immigration...) with the support of Shared Services and coordinates with the relevant providers
  • On an annual basis, prepares the package updates (salary review, indexes update, tax reconciliation...)
  • Links with experts (Tax, C&B...) to provide solutions to specific situations arising during the assignment
  • Communicates on any relevant new information with both HR, C&B and expats
  • Highlights areas of improvement in terms of policies / processes and proposes solutions
  • Validates any exceptions as per the DoA
  • Ensures all necessary documents / data are up to date
  • Contribute to the animation of International Mobility Network Calls

Required Competencies:


  • Previous experience in International Mobility or in Human Resources / Compensation & Benefits role in an international environment
  • Advanced level of English (C1) is a must, knowledge of other languages will be an asset
  • Ability to prioritize, to manage multiple activities, to work with deadlines
  • Computer literacy: comfortable when working with digitalized processes & tools
  • Attention to detail, rigurous, at ease when working with numbers and performing calculations
  • Strong communication skills, empathy, assertiveness, stakeholder management skills
  • Creative, solution oriented
  • Team player: ability to work as a team with all members of ALEC and the Compliance Team in Shared Services
