The Systems & Equipment Division Purchasing & Supplier Performance Vice President is responsible for the strategic management of the purchasing for the division.

He will be managing the processes of obtaining and securing with best-in-class Quality/Cost/Delivery conditions, goods and services for the Company in accordance with the division budget and financial objectives.


The Systems & Equipment Division Purchasing Vice President will report directly to the Safran Landing Systems Purchasing & Supplier Performance Executive Vice President and functionally to the Systems & Equipment Division General Manager.

He will be part of the Systems & Equipment Division Executive committee. The division purchasing scope comprises over €75 million in annual spend representing more than 80% of the Division production costs and a global team of 20 individuals localized in 3 areas

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Define the sourcing strategies and implements the subsequent road map to support corporate and divisional objective;
  • Become acquainted with the company, divisional executives and sourcing leaders, customers, products, procedures and processes;
  • Be a catalyst to sustain a "customer driven" philosophy within the organization that fosters "Operational Excellence", "Lean/Six-Sigma Initiatives", "Continuous Improvement" and "Best Practices";
  • Achieve competitive advantage from a total cost perspective including quality, on time delivery, price, lead times, minimum order quantity, inventory and payment terms;
  • Assume operational and instrumental leadership on major commodity supplier purchasing negotiations;
  • Create and maintain mutually beneficial longterm partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement, promote sound relationships with suppliers;
  • Manage the operational performance of Suppliers. Drive the development of progress plans into a global supplier Quality/ Cost / Delivery improvement roadmap. Monitor the supplier roadmap progress
  • Define Supplier Development key targets and drive their implementation, follow implementation milestones through Supplier Productivity workshops
  • Ensure the monitoring of the Division suppliers panel in terms of regulatory approvals and operational surveillance
  • Manage the Purchasing team to achieve main objectives and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the procurement process;

Exigences du poste:


  • Bachelor's degree in related field required. Advanced degree and certification(s) preferred;
  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in global strategic sourcing development, supplier alliance development, evaluation, and management with a world class manufacturing company;
  • Proven record of accomplishment of achieving overall total cost/value goals;
  • Multi cultural awareness. Ability to speak and read a foreign language desirable;
  • Proven Supplier Alliance Management and Global Executive Management experience;
  • Experience in Aviation / Automotive and/or Industrial related business in an international company;
  • Knowledge of ERP software (SAP, BAAN);
  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing knowledge required;
  • Proven record of interfacing with other business units within a large global business;
  • Advanced level skills in Microsoft Office product suite including Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
