    The Department / Team:
    The Software Engineer will be member Software Engineering team in our R&D centre based in Grenoble and dedicated to develop Moody's Analytics Solutions across the EMEA region. He will also be part of a multidisciplinary team built to the agile SCRUM design. The Software Engineer will work in cooperation with our architects, development engineers and quality engineers in a multicultural environment.

    The Role / Responsibilities:
    In order to support our new generation products fitted for high performance and scalability, we are recruiting a subject matter expert in backend development .
    You will integrate a software development team in charge of the development of our new risk management platform based on SaaS technologies.
    As an expert you will take part of the development of Moody's new solution with a particular focus on the development of web services mechanisms allowing to manage the computation and the aggregation of risk indicators with the objective to publish regulatory reports.
    Your position will allow you to interact with architect, business analysts, project managers, developers, and quality assurance analysts of different geographic development sites

    As Senior Software Engineer, you will :

    • Collaborate with Business Analysts to interpret requirements for Business Missions/Epics owned by the stream.
    • Provide feedback on requirements from a technical perspective and provide estimates for user stories and tasks.
    • Lead design activities for Business Missions/Epics owned by the stream
    • Take ownership of business missions/epics and stories; Implement and test features based on the requirements
    • Define and maintain coding standards, and guide team members to comply with these standards.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance engineers to fix defects.
    • Collaborate with build and release engineers to prepare packages and solve environment issues.
    • Investigate and find the root cause for software problems reported by clients. Communicate with clients via email and phone regarding these defects.

    • Review code, lead refactoring activities, provide guidance from technical perspective for all SE members of a stream
    • Work with more senior team members to continuously improve our engineering practices
    • Conduct training sessions and knowledge sharing in or cross the teams.

    Qualifications:

    • Owner of a Master's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, you already have a solid experience on Python. Experience in AWS Cloud computing, PostgreSQL and usage of Git are mandatory.

    Additional language requirement:

    • Knowledge of Scala will be a good additional skill.

    Additional skills :

    • Usage of Github actions and interest for DevOps tools will be appreciated.
    • Some notions in Angular will be appreciated.
    • A good English communication level is required.
    • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships at all levels.
