WATER MICROBIOLOGY SCIENTIST F/M
Position based in Ile de France
You will join a dynamic team of 7 people who play an active role in research and innovation in the field of Microbiology. This team's main mission is to develop a strong foundation in water microbiology, with a particular focus on processes. Operating across a cross-category/worldwide scope, you will be engaged in a continuous learning process and will need to constantly adapt to remain at the forefront of developments in this field.
As a Water Microbiology Scientist, you will actively contribute to enriching the Group's knowledge on topics related to the natural flora of water. You will use cutting-edge characterization methodologies to better understand the interactions between chemistry, microbiology, and processes in treatments and products. You will also be involved in scientific and technological monitoring to stay at the forefront of biofilm detection technologies and microbiological contaminant detection.
To achieve this, you will develop and test innovative processes to control microbiological risks associated with water in factories. Your mission involves conducting in-depth technological research to identify innovative solutions in managing microbiological risks related to water. You will test these promising technologies in laboratory and pilot settings, while closely collaborating with central or local operational teams during specific audits related to water microbiology.
Finally, you will participate in the development of innovative products or solutions for consumers or internal clients. You will be involved in product innovation by removing technological barriers and evaluating available technical solutions. For this, you will closely collaborate with suppliers and partners to support development initiatives.
With a PhD or equivalent higher education in Water Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, or Applied Bioprocesses for Water Treatment, and with some professional experience, or having recently obtained a doctorate in one of these fields, you possess skills in measurement, identification, and characterization of microbiology, as well as in molecular biology tools (flow cytometry, genetic characterization, metagenomics, taxonomic and functional gene studies, qPCR). You also have skills in water chemistry and process engineering, with practical experience in water treatment.
