Purpose:
Department Profile


The European Portfolio & Product Management (PPM) team is an integral part of the Regional Structured Finance & Risk Distribution team (SF &RD) which reports ultimately into the Head of CMB Europe, while also aligning to the Global Portfolio Management functional principles.


Within the above construct, Lending Product management team cover all aspects of the lending product lifecycle including: origination, execution and maintenance of the lending product family.


This team has responsibility for:

product development; regional Sustainable Finance Forum; the pricing environment; lending documentation & legal engagement model; overall control framework; ensuring local market conventions meet Group standards & ongoing monitoring of the lending product family.

Responsibilities:


  • Support front line asset origination through effective client & market focused Lending Product Management
  • Support lending product development; helping to implement and deliver improvements to all stages of the lending product lifecycle (origination, execution & maintenance)
  • Support regional delivery of various projects (adhoc and BAU) impacting lending products within CE CMB countries as appropriate
  • Helping to improve the overall the lending pricing environment, strategy and process for CE CMB markets
  • Work with the wider team to implement regulatory and policy changes; involving assessing policy change impacts, communications and training to originating teams as appropriate.
  • Support onsite audit reviews from internal and external stakeholders, to demonstrate Europe CMB competence in effective product management.
  • Representation of PPM within various European product/ portfolio committees and Governance forums; including, but not limited to preparing quality submissions
  • Ensuring effective and efficient product reviews are conducted on an ongoing basis as appropriate (e.g. pricing reviews, documentation reviews)
  • Coordinate with GCMB, regional colleagues and other support functions (such as Risk/ Legal/ Compliance/ Operations etc.) to ensure CE CMB Lending priorities are effectively delivered
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with issues raised by regulators
  • Support Portfolio Management & broader business efforts to improve portfolio data and transparency.
  • Understand HSBC values and business principles
Requirements

Skills/Experience Required

  • Highly motivated and proactive, eager to accept new challenges and executing at pace.
  • Experience delivering on projects with multifunctional stakeholders such as Risk/ COO/ Finance/ Legal/ Reg Policy/ IT will be highly preferred
  • Multitasking ability, with an eye for detail and logical context.
  • Literate and articulate with good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team, while being able to deliver well as an individual contributor.
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong excel skills.
  • Experience in CMB systems, processes and procedures is beneficial.
  • Spirited individual, with a learning mindset and a positive attitude; with a patient but persistent approach to seeing projects to completion and preferably a record of engaging with regional contacts and/or multiple sites in Europe.
  • Language skills: While not mandatory, ability to communicate in French is preferred, noting role may require engaging on local implementation of products
