The Role


The role of the Technical lead engineer is to provide best in class technical support to field service teams for all Technical Centre activities to ensure installation of new system and upgrade safety (aligned with the approved Safety Review), uptime and availability (installation timeline) in support for our Customers productivity to improve their satisfaction.

This position requires the ability to work complex and diverse issues, display creativity and excellent technical skills

The main mission of the Technical Lead Engineer is to provide hands-on support on installation and compliance according to the approved designed, and preparation for:

  • New system customization (support to the Sales team)
  • Customization of a new equipment to match customer requirements on customer site.
  • Chamber addition to an existing tool and leading the handson activities.
  • Field change Request (support to the service team)
  • Technical issues requiring modification to an equipment.
  • Test of Pre-Released product
  • Support to obsolescence
  • CIPs (continuous improvement program) implementations
  • Ensuring safety and quality compliance
  • Creation of upgrade kit package (support to the business development manager)
  • Extension to a "targeted system" upgrade kit to an extended scope within EMEA
  • Enhance communication of legacy equipment with the supervision to support the business transformation program

Scope of work of the Technical Lead Engineer:

  • In charge of the supervision of all Technical Centre activities (upgrade / new equipment / preparation of test bench for troubleshoot/Demo/ 5S)
  • Responsible to ensure Safety review are followedup and systems are fully compliant before they move to production
  • Responsible to report to the project lead when NSTA(nonstandard test addendum) is done and recorded.
  • Define and write action plan on how to install defined changes per the agreed customer roadmap features.
  • Support the development engineer to complete specific NSTA for the finished product together with safety review (when required).
  • Report any missing information in both NSTA & PSCL to the development engineer & the project lead to ensure document is fully completed before final release
  • Support service team with installation/specific setting
  • Make sure customer requirement are understood and put in place by service team.
  • Ensuring that the Technical Centre is maintained in accordance with all legislative, landlord and Edwards/Atlas Copco policy Safety, Health and Environment requirements established by EMEA CC SHE organisation and Edwards France safety consultant.
  • Ensuring that the Technical Centre is equipped, operated and maintained in accordance with all Edwards/Atlas Copco policy Quality & Compliance requirements.
  • Understand the TCOO and operational impacts and provide inputs and guidance on product development roadmap.

Skills / Knowledge:

  • Ability to drive system installation, including preparation, planning, realization, test & reporting
  • Optimize, improve the full installation process
  • Investigate and solve design issues, fault finding
  • Define risk mitigations by formal risk management methods
  • Complete accurate effort estimate calculations
  • Technical knowledge of Piping & Instrumentation diagrams and symbols
  • Correctly read electrical schematics and schedules
