The Methodology and Models Development Group (MMDG) at Moody's is responsible for developing and publishing all new rating methodologies and assessment frameworks and revisions thereto, as well as the related models, scorecards and analytical tools used in MIS.

MIS's credit rating methodologies describe the analytical framework rating committees use to assign ratings, and assessment frameworks describe the analytics behind a variety of MIS non-rating products that are relevant to fixed income investors.


The Methodology Analytics Team leads the analytical development of methodologies and assessment frameworks and works with teams across Credit Strategy and Standards, the MIS rating groups, MIS Technology Services and other groups to assure timely execution and a robust end-product.


We are looking for a talented and highly motivated individual to join the Methodology Analytics team within the Methodology Development Group.


Responsibilities:


As a Credit Associate in MDG you will:

  • Support senior analysts across different offices with data gathering, analysis, preparing presentations and writing internal and external documents
  • Lead some methodology workstreams
  • Support delivery managers with reporting and managing of agile projects
  • Obtain exposure to a broad range of sectors across many rating groups
  • Be mentored by senior analysts to further develop your analytical and credit skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support MDG senior analysts in the timely completion and effective execution of projects
  • Collect, analyze and document data
  • Liaise effectively with methodology working group members, including analysts in rating groups and the methodology group, as well as the MIS group responsible for developing models, scorecards and analytical tools used in conjunction with methodologies
  • Work with models and tools for purposes of methodology development
  • Draft presentations and other methodologyrelated documentation
  • Develop working knowledge of Moody's sector and crosssector methodologies
  • Perform administrative tasks and adhoc assignments

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Science, Financial Engineering or related quantitative field
  • Relevant experience (including internships) is preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, Power Point and Word. Knowledge of Python is a plus
  • Solid verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize work accordingly
  • Professional, proactive, flexible, diligent and dependable
  • Fluency in English required
