Position Summary:

Apellis is seeking an experienced and talented marketing leader for the role of Brand Manager.

It is an outstanding opportunity to make a significant impact for patients, HCPs and the company, leading the French & BENELUX organization through the first commercial launch in ophthalmology for Apellis.

Currently, Geographic atrophy (GA) is a disease without any approved therapies in the given markets. GA is a condition with a high unmet medical need and a leading cause of blindness around the world.


The Brand Manager France & BENELUX will be responsible for building a strong team and guiding that team through market shaping and launch efforts.

They will be the strategic hub of the French & BENELUX organization, translating and adapting global strategy into local execution.

They will be deeply engaged with cross-functional partners, driving collaboration and accountability across the organization to deliver business results. They will report to the Director, Commercial FRBNLX.


Key Responsibilities Include:


  • Build and manage a highperforming France & BENELUX Team whose approach aligns with Apellis' mission, values, and culture. Support team members in their development
  • Cultivate collaboration and accountability across key crossfunctional teams to deliver on all elements of the plan in a way that aligns with brand strategy and the corporate values / culture.
  • Breed a culture of patientfocus and customercentricity throughout the organization.
  • Think holistically about the business and closely monitor performance against key metrics, taking accountability for driving success over the longterm in a highly competitive market.
  • Effectively socialize brand strategy, the launch plan, and core marketing activities across all levels of the organization
  • Ensure that policies, procedures, and infrastructure for compliance, legal, and regulatory are in place to support French & BENELUX marketing execution.
  • Build a strong and positive relationship with global marketing, advising them in the development of longterm brand strategy.
  • Drive efficient and thoughtful stewardship of marketing team budget.
  • Coordinate with the Commercial Director and cross functional teams to understand status of French & BENELUXspecific launch plans.
  • Provide senior leaders with a consolidated view monthly of GA launch readiness for French & BENELUX affiliate.
  • Establish, operate and follow launch performance metrics.

Education, Registration & Certification:


  • BS/BA degree in life sciences, MBA preferred.

Experience:


  • 8+ years of biotech/pharma experience, predominantly in marketing roles of increasing scope and responsibility (mini of 5 years) but also with experience in complementary commercial roles (e.g., patient & HCP marketing, sales, market access, commercial operations, global marketing, etc.)
  • Experience in affiliate launches and rare diseases is preferred.
  • Marketing experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry in more than one of the following: consumer marketing, HCP marketing, new product planning, brand marketing, sales, or market research/analytics
  • A high achiever with proven track record of successful marketing campaigns through digital and traditional marketing platforms
  • Ophthalmology experience would be an advantage but is not mandatory

  • Track record of building plans and rallying the crossfunctional organization around those plans, demonstrating accountability and sense of urgency
  • A strong commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs, as well as to maintaining close relationships with frontline employees.
  • An entrepreneurial spirit coupled with the drive to embrace innovation and develop creative but wellreasoned solutions to business challenges.
  • Motivation to be a part of envisioning and building the infrastructure, systems, and tactics to ensure launch success.
  • Confident working on and supporting with a wide range of projects
  • Demonstrated integrity on the job, including an understanding of relevant rules and regulations.
  • Strong knowledge of multi channel's approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence across functions and varying levels of management.
  • Ability to navigate and be successful in a fastpaced, resultsdriven environment, managing through ambiguity.
  • Ability to travel as required and attend events outside of business hours (e.g., occasional weekends and evenings)
