Job summary

In the Operations department, reporting to the procurement service, the Apprentice Buyer will take part in several purchasing tasks: tenders, sourcing, administrative operations, reporting, budgeting, all in both direct and indirect categories.

With a higher focus on indirect categories.

The Apprentice Buyer will integrate a pleasant human sized team in Rueil-Malmaison (European HQ) with an international environment, thanks to our several plants all around Europe and our functional relationship with the US procurement team.

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Consolidating needs from multiple factories (Poland, Spain, Belgium, Holland, France)
• Analyzing purchasing categories and collaborating with the Global Lead Buyer in defining and implementing purchasing strategies
• Streamlining the supplier panel
• Challenging sourcing of existing products
• Contractualization
• Managing one or more indirect categories (reports, monitoring, contracts, and tendering)
• Handling and conducting adhoc studies on suppliers and the management of international contracts
• Preparing reports: analyzing discrepancies between budget forecasts and actual expenses to implement corrective measures; producing statistics for management
• Identifying opportunities for function development (integrating new categories, exploring new sources of savings or cost optimization, etc.), considering the requirements and rules of the SG group
• Contributing to the management of tenders and benchmarks.
• Preparing and managing supplier appointments within the framework of tenders.
• Participating in negotiations with suppliers to maximize contractual benefits.

Working conditions
The incumbent may be required to travel on a regular basis, mostly in European plants and headquarter.
