Intitulé du poste: Chemical Recycling of Plastic Materials: Experimental Study and Modeling of PET Depolymerization via Glycolysis
Description
Chemical Recycling of Plastic Materials: A Key to a Circular Economy
In the face of pressing environmental and societal challenges related to plastic waste management, chemical recycling emerges as a vital solution. This innovative approach aims to valorize existing resources, minimizing the extraction of new raw materials.
Job Description:
In this PhD project, you will study and model the primary and secondary depolymerization mechanisms of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). You will explore how polymer structure (crystallinity, chain length) impacts decomposition processes. Advanced modeling approaches based on population balance equations will be employed.
Your research focuses on PET's unique properties and their effect on the formation of oligomers and monomers.
By combining experimental work with sophisticated mathematical modeling techniques,
you'll make significant contributions to our understanding of PET processing.
