Date Required:
April 2023 to September 2024


Purpose:


Work closely with the Senior Project Manager for Containment, ESG Design Team, Project Coordinators and Client by leading in some areas and assisting in others with the management of design, procurement, planning, installation, maintenance and removal of containment services and installations at multiple competition and non-competition venues for the purpose of a major event in Paris in 2024.

A very dynamic role which combines desktop design and project management equally with on-site management including on-venue visits, meetings, problem solving and constant close communication with the Client and all Key Stakeholders.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Assist in the design, planning, implementation and installation of containment services at each venue. Work within a defined budget to deliver the project. Includes attending multiple site visits, documenting change, and marking up drawings to then communicate to the Design Team.
  • Assist with the procurement and management of Containment subcontractors, including but not limited to managing work and monitoring performance of subcontractors.
  • Lead on procurement of locally sourced containment items such as electrical conduit, cable tray, concrete trough etc.
  • Lead on sourcing and hiring local plant, transport, crew and assist in logístical deployment to venues of locally sourced items.
  • Lead effective coordination and communication between subcontractors, other ESG departments relevant Project Managers and the Client regarding schedule, variation, quality, and the provision of information required by contractors for the Site.
  • Communicate consistently and clearly with the Senior Project Manager on all and any issues relating to the work or project in general.
  • Assist in ensuring that all work undertaken at the sites are undertaken in a safe and professional manner, including the preparation and review of Health & Safety documentation (assistance provided).
  • Comply and respond to all Paris 2024 and ESG procedural, administrational, operational guidelines and instructions.
  • Provide translation and interpretation for the wider ES Global team if required.
  • Other duties may be assigned as required.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English and French is preferred.
  • This role is based in Paris, France. Travel within France to regional venues (including overnight stays will be required)
  • Some weekend work may be required notably during the Games operational periods.

Job Specific Tasks (including but not limited to):

  • Create specific progress reports in French and English (with guidance from the on-venue Construction Managers)
  • Create specific documentation including Construction Plans in French and English (with guidance from Project Managers)
  • Assist in the management of Contractors on site involved in containment installations including monitoring progress and inputting into the Masterplan.
  • Assist in the handover of completed containment installations including the completion and filing of documentation and monitoring the progress of such.
  • Effectively communicate change to Design team through marked up plans and quantity sheets
  • Attend site visits and meetings, and collaborate closely with the Client and all Key Stakeholders.

Skills & Experience (minimum and desirable):


Minimum:


  • Fluency in English and French is preferred. (Including written French)
  • At least 5 years of work experience required, related to Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing Containment (preferred but not a definite requirement)
  • Strong people management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to deal with staff and contractors at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to anticipate, forecast and proactively solve issues in quick time.
  • Understanding of Overlay design and operational requirements for largescale events and/or Olympic Games (preferred but not a definite requirement)
  • Computer literate with good experience on Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Previous experience working in fastpaced, multilevel, projectbased environments with emphasis on timelines, budgets and delivery is preferred.

Desirable:


  • Experience in viewing (not drawing) AutoCAD and an understanding of schematic plans.
  • Understanding of the overlay design process for largescale events
  • Previous experience in a similar position on a major event
  • Previous experience in a similar position on an Olympic or Commonwealth Games
