Description
Riviera Gourmet is looking for a shopper to join our dynamic team for the summer of 2023.

First and foremost, what we require is an enthusiastic and positive can-do attitude from all of our team members, and flexibility is a must for this role.

At Riviera Gourmet we are looking for fully flexible and adaptable team members who are able to assist in all aspects of the business during the high season when necessary.

This means that whilst your main role is acting as a shopper and purchasing all necessary goods for our orders, you may be required to assist in pick-ups and some smaller deliveries to support the whole team during exceptionally busy periods.

This is a very physical role in which you are on your feet all day therefore a good level of physical fitness is required.

We encourage anyone with prior experience working with food to apply, or with a passion for cooking as you will largely be involved in the buying of ingredients for superyacht chefs and culinary knowledge will be helpful in your understanding of the product.

Communication is also key in this business therefore strong communication skills are essential for successfully delivering to our clients.

Provisioning is a fast-paced, and often unpredictable industry, especially during the busy summer months, therefore efficiency, good decision-making skills, common sense, and time management skills are required for all shoppers and team members at Riviera Gourmet.

Shift times and hours can vary throughout the season; therefore, full flexibility on starting and finishing times will be essential for shoppers.

This role is perfect for those who are looking to begin their career in the yachting industry with a land-based role, or those with experience in the industry and are looking to return to life on shore.

If you're a motivated team-player, loaded with common-sense and problem-solving abilities who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment, a role at Riviera Gourmet could be perfect for you.

Main Roles and Responsibilities

Product selection - As a shopper you are responsible for selecting and purchasing all product required for both Chef and Interior orders. Therefore, an in-depth knowledge of products is key so that the specific needs and requests of our clients are met. For example, the correct product must be purchased, and for fresh produce, it must be quality checked and the shelf-life of the product must be long enough to suit each client's specific needs. Each product that is purchased must uphold the high, luxury standards that Riviera Gourmet's clients expect.

Communication - Regularly communicate with other member of shopping team in a timely manner to ensure efficiency in shopping of an order and to make sure that no product is missed from shopping lists.

Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers- As a shopper you are the face of Riviera Gourmet in public and in retail settings, therefore it is essential that you maintain the friendly, professional relationship we have with our suppliers. As their first point of contact, you are the link between the office and our suppliers, and are key to notifying us of any changes in operating hours, pricing and stock of product (I.e. if there is a supply chain issue and a key product is temporarily unavailable, so that we can plan accordingly in sourcing alternatives). This being said, you will also be the face of Riviera Gourmet
