We set the company's strategy and technology vision, offer an unparalleled research foundation for innovation, and provide critical support infrastructure for Nokia.

Nokia Bell Labs is the world-renowned research arm of Nokia, having invented many of the foundational technologies that underpin information and communications networks and all digital devices and systems.

This research has produced nine Nobel Prizes, five Turing Awards and numerous other awards.

The apprenticeship will take place in Nokia Bell Labs France (Enterprise Infrastructure & Platforms team).

The premises are located in Massy (12 RUE JEAN BART, 91300 Massy) which is 20 km south from Paris. The premise is within 10 minutes reach from Massy-Palaiseau RER station. Alternatively, you can get there by car either via A10 (exit Massy Atlantis).

What you will learn and contribute to
Autonomous cars is one key challenge of the mobility in the coming years. New solution are considering what part of the autonomy can be delegated to a smart infrastructure.

This "cooperative autonomy" solution can be deployed in several use-cases such as remote control and orchestration of autonomous cars or last miles mobility services.

Intermediate solution are also envisaged to provide complementary information to ADAS (connected ADAS or c-ADAS). They provide significant advantage both at individual (e.g. safety) and collective (e.g. traffic optimization) scales. Simulation allows to test those solutions and demonstrations allows to showcase those solutions.

The apprentice will be in charge, in close cooperation with R&D team in charge of the cooperative autonomy solution, to
- acquire knowledge of simulation environment,
- propose algorithms able to address scheduling challenges,
- develop those algorithms and test them in the simulation platform,
- evaluate their performance for continuous improvement,
- contribute to the simulation environment to improve its realism.

Job Key Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Understand or being motivated by advanced car controls and related concepts such as : autonomous car, autopilot, remotely managed cars, flow control, control theory.
- propose new algorithms, test their performance and continously improve

  • Contribute to improvement of the simulation environment for better representativity
  • Take in charge the development of the demonstration through API development together with the technical demonstration team.

Your skills and experience
