Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Sustainability Manager to join JLL's Work Dynamics department. This Manager will be responsible for one of JLL's high profile clients across Europe.

You will play a pivotal role to support the client's sustainability programme and ensure that we deliver our environmental sustainability obligations.

The contract is permanent.


We are aligned with the client you'll be supporting to drive sustainability through everything that we do, across all service lines, operations, and job positions.

What this job involves


Report to the Sustainability & Social Value Lead to support the delivery of the client's environmental sustainability strategy in a coordinated manner.

Manage the environmental sustainability element of the client's programme governance structure as well as our JLL team. Be a key person for sustainability within the account team.

Support the design and delivery of the client's sustainability strategy, roadmap, and targets.

Develop and drive the energy and sustainability management program to uplift the energy and sustainability performance and enhance the operational and system efficiency.

Manage sustainability contract requirements and performance reporting systems including supporting the development, tracking, and updating of KPI's.

Assist in the development and implementation of management plans for sustainability initiatives across the portfolio and embed within overall JLL account delivery.

Work with property facility managers to implement the roadmap and provide advice on how they can deliver against environmental targets.

Manage sustainability contract requirements and performance reporting systems including support of the development, tracking, and updating of KPI's.
Support the delivery of site assessments for key locations and provide guidance on how to reduce GHG emissions.

Effectively track and communicate success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement of the sustainability program is achieved.

Develop and deliver training and educational materials based on JLLs best practice knowledge from around the world.
Work with the analyst team for data collection, analysis, and reporting. Support the development and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual sustainability reporting to client.
Support with coordinating and tracking the implementation of energy-efficiency projects and wider net zero carbon strategy.
Conduct impact analysis of sustainability initiatives and identify action to deliver enhanced outcomes. Populate and frequently update the tracker and monitor results. Undertake audits on site when needed.
Drive, with sound technical expertise, operational improvement programmes through the delivery of conservation measures.
Work with the sourcing team to manage relationships with vendors and waste management contractors.
Coordinate with account global team for continued improvement and consistency of deliverables.
Build and maintain a strong relationship with the client and other key stakeholders within JLL.

Desired skills and experience for this job


Minimum 7 years work experience as a sustainability manager in a real estate environment or similar, including building design, construction, commissioning, or management.

Background in environmental sustainability, such as environmental sciences, sustainable development, ESG, sustainable procurement, etc.
Experience with sustainability assessment schemes (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, etc.) and relevant reporting protocols (e.g. GreenHouse Gas Protocol).
Be passionate about sustainability in the built environment.
Skills derived in a consulting, programme management, technical delivery, or client relationship management roles are also highly regarded.
Ability to develop and improve systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance, monitoring, and reporting.
Previous evidence of creating sustainability reports, strategies, and communication materials within a large client or organisational setting.
Experienced in managing accounts for clients with complex needs.
Ability to consistently deliver performance targets and takes quick, corrective action when required to exceed expectations where possible.
A proven track record of delivery and understanding of the latest environmental sustainability themes and approaches.
Great communication skills - excellent presentation skills (verbal and written).
Ability to think broadly, create a shared vision, and embrace change as an opportunity.

The ability to work under mínimal supervision in a rigorous manner to deliver accurate, high quality, engaging and client ready outputs.

Fluent in written and spoken English.
