Innovation Norway is seeking a Senior Business Developer for an 18 month project (CDD) for our Paris office (other French location/shared location may be possible).

As a Business Developer/ Senior Business Developer for Innovation Norway's green maritime activities in France, you will be part of our team working to support Norwegian businesses in entering and growing their position in the French and European maritime market. In addition to Innovation Norway colleagues in Paris and Norway, you will work in close collaboration with Team Norway France, most notably the Norwegian Embassy, the French-Norwegian Chamber of Commerce, and the industry cluster Maritime Cleantech, as well as other Norwegian maritime clusters and competence centres.


This is a position with substantial autonomy, requiring in-depth knowledge of the French maritime market and established networks with French key stakeholders and authorities.


The following competences are of particular relevance:

  • The French maritime market (inland and coastal/offshore), technologies, relevant tenders and projects, value chains and supply chains
  • Network with key stakeholders (authorities at national and regional level, institutional actors, business support systems, commercial actors, and main players)
  • Experience with relevant business models and market fit for various products and services
  • Knowledge of the green maritime transition in France, including processes of policymaking and legislation
  • Indepth knowledge of green maritime technologies (H2, electric, ammonia, etc.)
  • Project management and execution

Role and responsibilities:


  • In close collaboration with Maritime Cleantech and other Team Norway partners, lead Innovation Norway's customer followup in the French maritime market.
  • Identify, document, and promote relevant market opportunities, tenders, and projects in the French market to Norwegian businesses and industry, and within Team Norway.
  • Ensure continuous market intelligence in relevant sectors and segments. Conduct and publish market updates. Support digitalisation of market knowledge and tools through Innovation Norway and Team Norway platforms.
  • Plan, organise and run webinars, events, and meetings.
  • Identify relevant maritime market events organize market visit and delegations to these.
  • Ensure proactive liaison and coordination throughout Innovation Norway and Team Norway.
  • Provide indepth technical knowledge and advice on the maritime technologies, needs and solutions.

Essential criteria:

We are looking for a hands-on, service oriented, collaborative, proactive, and results driven colleague with a positive attitude.


We expect you to have:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or other relevant field.
  • Minimum 10 years' relevant work experience and proven track record within technology development, business development and/or export promotion within the maritime sector.
  • Strong knowledge of French maritime sector, technologies, value chains and key stakeholders.
  • Commercial mindset, and passion for sales and business development.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and French (English as working language).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Very good understanding of and experience with use of digital office tools (Teams, SharePoint, CRM etc.).
Knowledge of Norwegian language, business culture and industry networks is an advantage, but no prerequisite.
