Service Specialist I SUMMARY**Service Specialists work closely with the customer throughout the commissioning cycle. They are responsible for the installation and testing of manufactured instruments, as well as troubleshooting and maintenance of the equipment.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to the following:

  • Works with more experienced Service Specialists in the installation of manufactured instruments at the customer's location (20%)
  • Helps in the training of customers in the operation of manufactured instruments (10%)
  • Tests instruments prior to shipping to the customer with the guidance of engineering personnel or more senior Service Specialists (20%)
  • Helps troubleshooting of manufactured instruments (10%)
  • Helps in the maintenance of manufactured instruments at the customer's location (10%)
  • Trains with more experienced Service Specialists (20%)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university or Associates Degree from two-year school, and 3 plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees or the organization and customers.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


MECHANICAL and ELECTRICAL SKILLS
Ability to assemble and disassembly hydraulic items. Ability to wire electrical items. Knowledge of how to read mechanical and electrical drawings.


COMPUTER SKILLS

REASONING ABILITY

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license and passport

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to a manufacturing environment that includes but is not limited to: metal cutting and machining equipment, cutting fluids, metal shavings and oil.

The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and there is a potential risk of electric shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

International travel will be required
