Description


The OBS Games Services department has had the duty to provide food services to over 8,000 staff members and crews and to provide support to OBS crews based at the IBC.

The Food & Beverage/Cleaning & Waste Officer is responsible for assisting the Food & Beverage Coordinator in the organizing and planning of all details involved in providing food services within the IBC break areas, including executives, plus the supervision of the Cleaning and Waste services to be provided by the Organizing Committee at the IBC.

This position reports to the Food & Beverage Coordinator and ultimately to the Food & Beverages Manager.

Duties

  • Work with the Food & Beverage Coordinator in the planning and provision of temporary supplies to be provided at the Break Areas;
  • Liaise with the Executive Office and the Production Office for the provision of catering services to these areas, including the setup of the spaces and coordination with the caterer regarding schedules and menu supplies;
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Coordinator in the load in and set up of the break areas' preceding actual operations;
  • Maintain and coordinate the replenishment of each break area;
  • Update inventories and plan accordingly the purchase needs for each break area through a specific computer system;
  • Work directly with the goods providers;
  • Ensure that the caterers meet all requirements for temporary food service operations;
  • Planning and execution of all OBS Special Events and Meetings during Games Time;
  • Ensure that all Health and Safety regulations are followed within the building in terms of F&B activities;
  • Oversee together with the FNB Coordinator the operation of the existing restaurants at the IBC, run by the Organizing Committee, and ensure that the services are provided based on the agreement between OCOG and OBS, including operational hours and meals offers;
  • Supervise and ensure that the Cleaning and Waste services are provided in the correct level of services to all OBS offices areas and to all RHBs offices and studios.
Experience

  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook Express, Power Point);
  • They shall be able to professionally undertake the duties reasonably requested by OBS as is necessary to complete OBS' assignments as detailed in the OBS order and job description;
  • They possess a professional attitude and is willing to perform the assignment indicated by OBS.
  • Detail orientated team player capable of communicating with all levels in a multinational organization;
  • Exceptional trouble shooting skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Time management & priority setting skills essential;
  • Ability to generate and maintain detailed plans and reports;
  • Ability to work flexible hours;
  • Ability to learn and operate OBS software tools for fulfilment of their duties (e.g. GRPS, etc.);

  • This is an approximately 3month long positions that commences in July and ends in September 2024, based on the event schedule.
  • Current residence in France is preferred
