Purpose of the Job
Pilot the technical aspects of the Project or Tender

Represents technically the project, vis-à-vis the customer

Specify and validate, with the team, the Transport System Solution

Control the technical consistency through a strong interfaces Management and QCD approach


Organisational Reporting
Reports to the project manager


Performance Measurement

1) Based on a QCD approach:

  • on-time delivery (adi, dpi)
- within cost budget
- within quality targets (RAMS, performances) for the complete turnkey system delivery


Including:

  • System Solutions robustness and performances
  • Produce attractive and competitive solution
  • Produce innovative and competitive alternatives
  • Competitive analysis
  • Technical risk analysis and mitigation plan
  • Scope of Works / Completeness of the WorkPackages definition and management
  • Interface Management
  • Number of changes
2) System acceptance by customer through Gate Process (specification, preliminary design, critical design, integration, static tests, system test running, system trial running, revenue service, end of warranty/liability period)


Responsibilities

  • Develop system acceptance criteria & processes, and have them agreed upon by Customer
  • Choose the hypotheses for performance calculations and validate the results
  • Issue the Customer Requirements Specification
  • Issue the Functional Specification
  • Issue the Systems Architecture
  • Issue the Preliminary and Final Designs
  • Propose the Engineering Scope of Work to the Project or Tender Manager;define the WorkPackages for the Systems Engineering team and for the participating Operations Products lines (first level), produce them with his team for Systems Engineering.
  • Manage technical relationship with the Consortium
  • In relationship with the Project Test & Commissioning Manager, manages the integration and validation activities
  • Lead, develop and motivate the Engineering Project / Tender team
  • Implement the Methods and Engineering tools as per agreed recommendations
  • Issue the technical risks assessment & mitigation
  • Implement & Control the compliance & traceability matrix
  • Ensure the carryover from previous projects and current R&Ds
  • Produce the "GA 008" relative to the Engineering
  • Participate in reviews defined by the PMM
  • Support the Project Manager
Educational Requirements

Master's Degree in Engineering


Experience
Broad Knowledge of railway systems, operating requirements, available equipment and systems.
At least 5 years of experience in Engineering / Technical functions including at least 3 years in managerial positions in international projects
Senior Expert or Expert in System Engineering
