The Managing Director is responsible for developing and executing the Group strategy in the North and Central African region, driving the new business and working in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders to develop sales and services growth while ensuring all functions (processes and policies) are followed consistently within the corporate structure.


The MD will be specifically responsible for developing and executing a 5 year growth strategy for the NCA region that achieves as a minimum a 100% increase in revenue.

The MD is responsible to monitor, boost and challenge the dealer network to ensure an optimal performance. He/She manages and motivates the team and resources assigned to the region. The MD of NCA reports to the VP MEA


MAIN RESPONSABILITIES:


Definition of the strategic lines & budget:

  • Leads and coordinates strategic planning and middle & long-term business vision
  • Sets up the guidelines of a comprehensive market penetration strategy (Manitou Group products, geography, business sectors,)
  • Prepares a yearly budget for the subsidiary, and commits for the respect of the approved budget

Sales, Marketing & After Sales management:

  • Roll out the Manitou Group Sales, Marketing and after sales goals. Propose and build with his team a sales & marketing action plan. Makes sure of the right implementation and of the follow up in order to reach the turnover target
  • Defines the business growth model together with his line Manager: type of network per brands, profile of dealers,
  • Makes sure that the resources are adapted to the sales, marketing & after sales strategy. Ultimately, sets up priorities in line with the priority of the Group.
  • Constantly keep an eye on new business opportunities
  • Contributes to collect markets data, evolution and surveys to the Marketing HQ

Dealer management:


  • Boost the dealers performance through proper sales and promotion plans
  • Identify areas of improvement and challenges the dealers on these targeted actions
  • Provides a customercentric support to the local dealer network
  • Hires dealers and/or reorganizes dealers' responsibilities where the potential needs to be addressed with a new approach, with the validation of his management.

Management, HR, financial, general administration:


  • Proposes the ultimate organization to grow on the regional market
  • Manages the team (ICT; Galileos ), enhances their motivation and efficiency in line with Group rules.
  • Makes sure that the company complies with the local laws & regulation
  • Makes sure that the subsidiary expenses remain in the committed budget
  • Represents the company towards the local authorities
  • Fosters a positive and motivational environment for the team, emphasizing integrity, respect, and accountability, while providing opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and build their careers in accordance with Group values.

Reporting:


  • Provides regular reports on the activity to the VP Northern & Eastern Europe
  • Provides ad hoc report to the VP Northern & Eastern Europe or Manitou HQ (Forecasts )

PROFILE:


  • 10 to 15 years of expertise in the Sales network management and team management preferably within the NCA region
  • Prior experience in distribution of a manufactured capital product and management of a dealer network strongly desired.
  • Experience and/or understanding of the management of a legal entity or a BU
  • Demonstrated records of achievement and ongoing growth in responsibility
  • Ability to plan and manage both strategic and operational levels.
  • Outstanding consultative selling abilities and excellent interpersonal skills with executive level customers and partners.
  • Substantial experience with a specific sales methodology, sales channel management, and services.

Specific knowledge / Activity knowledge:


  • Ability to develop a business culture in which teams are empowered and enabled.
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Ability to develop visionary and innovative solutions.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Proven strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to communicate in a manner that reduces complexity.
  • Capable to work independently while coordinating activities with a variety of teams.
  • French, and English speaking
  • Must be computer literate, proficient with Microsoft Office and Google software and comfortable working with a laptop computer on a daily basis.

  • Works in partnership with almost all departments of the Headquarters to ensure close alignment between sales activities, accounting policies and the implementation and support of products.
