    Description

    Mission


    • As the SCPM you will be responsible for cost, schedule, performance and risk management of the supply chain portion of one or several space equipment development projects or programs.

    • You will be working on an integrated project team with team members from Operations, Engineering, Quality, Finance and Legal to ensure successful execution of a project or program and ensuring suppliers scope (inclusive of suppliers recurring and non-recurring work) is accomplished in accordance with all requirements.

    • Position is based in Toulouse

    Your Day-to-Day

  • Project Authority
  • §Responsible for cost, schedule, performance, and risk management of suppliers Nonrecurring and recurring scope as well as On Time, On Quality and On Cost (OTOQOC) of all deliverable hardware, software and services from the supply chain within a project or program.

    §Developing and reporting on supply chain management project metrics including but not limited to MS project (or other schedule software) schedule metrics, risk and opportunity metrics, supplier specification/requirements closure metrics, supplier design closure metrics, action item closure metrics, supplier qualification and transition to production metrics, delivery performance metrics, supplier quality/conformity metrics, financial performance metrics and other metrics as defined by the project/program.

    §Manage relationships with key suppliers at executive/leadership level, management level and working level with special attention paid to facilitating communication and problem solving within integrated project/program teams that consist of members of suppliers and customer personnel from engineering, operations, quality, legal, finance and program management.

    §In coordination with the project/program team, develop and execute all supply chain solutions for both strategic and tactical challenges/issues in a given project/program

    §Contribute to a healthy integrated project/program team by facilitating a positive, creative, committed, and energetic team environment and managing with honesty and integrity.

    §Maintain industrial credibility along with honest and open communication among all parties involved.

    §Facilitate timely resolution of developmental and engineering issues at suppliers during development phases in coordination with engineering

    §Facilitate timely resolution regarding failure review and corrective actions in coordination with Quality and Engineering

    §Facilitate timely resolution of production delivery issues in coordination with operations

  • Procurement Authority
  • §With support from Legal and in some cases either supported by or delegated to Supply Chain Managers at Airbus Constellation Satellites, the SCPM is responsible for developing, negotiating, executing, changing, updating and maintaining the procurement files for all suppliers in a given program or project.

  • Innovation and continuous improvement
  • §Facilitate supplier solutions that leverage the quality and reliability of traditional space technology/business with the speed and lower cost associated with new commercial space technology/business for transformational solutions and business practices that were previously not possible in the space industry.

    §Convert transformational ideas into transformational solutions and execute tot those solutions in a multidisciplinary team environment.

    §Drive continuous process improvement within a given program/project.

  • Intellectual Property
  • §Participate in the protection of the Company's intellectual property assets.

    §In some cases develop new intellectual property and/or secure new intellectual property through the supply chain with appropriate intellectual property teams and conditions

    §Facilitate make/buy analysis and intellectual property strategy and planning for a given project/program

    Your Profile


    • Minimum 5 years of management experience in some combination of engineering, supply chain management, program management, operations management and engineering management in space, aerospace, defense, major systems (automotive, marine, aircraft ect.) or related appropriate hi tech field. Experience strongly preferred in space systems and project management with history of developing suppliers and space equipment through a typical space system, sub-system or component development cycle development and production.

    • Engineering or similar technical degree from a credible college or university

    • Experience managing complex suppliers in high tech development/production environment. Experience in managing space equipment development through the development cycle, from specifications to PDR, to hardware delivery is highly desired.

    • Experience in facilitating engineering communication and decision making with engineering teams that are part of multiple companies is highly desired.

    • Experience in propulsion systems desired.

    • Proven leadership, communication and listening skills.

    • Strategic mindset and strong negotiation skills to use for large commercial deals.

    • Track record of innovation, creativity, problem solving and program execution success

    • Team player to collaborate with business units and functional partners like Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.

    • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, accounts payable and financial forecasting.

    • Experience in risk and opportunity management.

    • Fluency in both verbal and written English required, Fluency in French is highly desired.

    Working conditions/ Physical effort

    Position requires 20-30% international travel.
