Business Partner to Alstom Chief Procurement Officer, the job of Procurement Finance Director involves overseeing and managing the financial and strategic aspects of Alstom's procurement function.

The role is crucial for ensuring that the organization aligns with its overall business costing efficiency objectives while supporting its day-to-day operations effectively and delivering its savings programs.


Budgeting and Financial Management:

The Procurement Finance Director oversees the financial aspects of the procurement function, including budgeting, cost management, and resource allocation.

He works closely with Alstom Chief Procurement Officer and the Group Business Performance Vice President to develop procurement budgets, track expenses, ensure cost-effectiveness globally, support the deployment of shared services center and track saving programs financial performance.

He participates when needed to key supplier negotiations.

Main activities

  • Business Partner to Alstom Chief Procurement Officer, key member and contributor of its leadership team, the FD:
  • Participates to key procurement decisions.
  • Build benchmarks and give sound recommendations.
  • Leads or contributes to any initiative
  • Presents the procurement strategic delivery plan to the Alstom ALT including CEO
  • Manages and develops a multicultural and multilocation team of 12 controllers
  • Guardian of Alstom Standards & Instructions ( derogation form monitoring)
  • Contributes to special projects:
- with procurement process & tools to improve supplier payment means (factoring)
- related to make or buy analysis

  • Promotes of financial awareness (Cash), processes and disciplines within Procurement organization
  • Controls with the P&L the procurement saving programs:
  • ensuring proper reconciliation with P&L and projects of direct procurement savings
- ensuring proper reconciliation with hourly rates of indirect procurement activities

  • Controls the procurement efficiency and footprint:
  • HQ costs
  • Regional costs
  • Shared Services Center
s costs and recharges

  • Monitor and organize the Procurement and Shared Services Fees in an efficient manner
  • Assesses when need be the Supplier credit and financial risk and support for Suppliers' panel analytics

Education & Skills

  • University degree in Finance / Master in Business
  • Minimum 810 years' experience or equivalent in finance controlling or procurement
  • Foreign language: English is mandatory, additional language is a plus
  • Good knowledge of Business and Financial Indicators
  • Use own experience and improve constantly knowledge in financning
  • Balance Shortterm and Longterm Views/ Ability to manage several topics at the same time, quick in execution
  • Ability to use IST tools and Finance BO
  • Demonstrate Teamwork
  • Propose Change and Innovation, Lead Initiatives
  • With an Analytical mind
  • Autonomous (but not Independent) and Drive for Results, Businessoriented
  • Resilience, Flexible, ability to work under exposure N+1, N+2 or other Finance Managers
