Group Category Manager (Raw Materials) in La Défense

  • In this position, the Group Category Manager will work under the Raw Material Group Portfolio Director.
    Objectives
  • The Group Category Manager defines and implements the purchasing strategy of the categories, according to the vision of the group, and ensures the alignment of the practices with all BGs and sites
  • He / she maximizes value creation within the category, through coordination between functional stakeholders and purchasers.
  • He / she manages the development of the main suppliers using margin levers to ensure business continuity.
  • He / she coordinates the raw material global sourcing and allocation
  • He / she implements a supply risk management plan, by securing volumes through contracts implementation and/or carries the implementation of qualification projects and alternative materials on its perimeter.
  • He / she oversees the management of his/her categories for the Group
  • He / she oversees the saving rollout plan and the monthly monitoring of the impact of the purchase actions on his perimeter.
  • He / she oversees innovation research with suppliers and is responsible for deploying and monitoring the product and service innovation roadmap
  • He / she monitors supplier performance, including at least one formal review per year

Responsabilities and Tasks

STRATEGY & MANAGEMENT

  • Performs a spend analysis
  • Define the Category (Strategic) Plan with both a short and long term vision (3 to 5 years).

He/She defines, aligns and validates it with the CPOs of the different BGs and implements the plan in coordination with the BG Category Managers and BUPMs.


  • Define the purchasing strategy (spot / contract / pricing mechanism / double sources etc.) and use appropriate tool & methods where relevant (E-RFP / E-Auctions / Escalation process)
  • Implements shortterm, mediumterm and longterm improvement action plans.
  • Defines purchasing standards and indicators adapted to its category (standard contractual models, performance grid...)
  • Conducts a purchasing risk analysis and defines mitigation plans
  • Participates or leads (as required) cross Group or cross BG initiatives

TRANSACTIONAL PURCHASING

  • Definition of needs in terms of challenges (forecasting, functional analysis, standardization...)
  • Consolidate needs at the appropriate level (Group, Business Group, Business Unit, Site)
  • Supports the definition of functional specifications (decision matrix for information request / quote, etc.)
  • Defines the panel of suppliers for consultation
  • Performs information / quote requests
  • Lead negotiations to select the best supplier (based on cost breakdown, total cost of ownership
  • TCO, CSR and risk elements)
  • Manages contracts and monitoring (customization, deployment, performance evaluation)
  • Contributes to the reduction of requests and complexity
  • Implements and follows continuous improvement programs

MARKET INTELLIGENCE

  • Analyzes market trends (products, suppliers and customers) and cost drivers globally
  • Establishes market benchmarks (customers, competitors, suppliers)
  • Constructs the product cost structure
  • Identifies and offers alternative products in its category
  • Coordinates and / or leads supplier sourcing globally (especially in most competitive countries)
  • Defines the reverse marketing approach in its category
  • Coordinates solution testing and
