Description

Who We Are:

Zendar is creating a high-resolution radar imaging system that has resolution similar to lidar, allowing cars to see in inclement weather.

We want to change the role of radar in the autonomous driving sensor stack and demonstrate that radars can take on many of the functions of lidar at a much lower cost and in all weather conditions.

Zendar's technology fuses data streams from multiple sensors to build a more accurate scene and utilizes machine learning to predict likely environmental scenarios and provide situational awareness.

Zendar was founded in the San Francisco Bay area, at the very heart of one of the most advanced regions in the development of autonomous vehicles technologies.

We also opened an office in South Germany to capitalize on the decades of experience in the automotive radar industry of the area, and are setting up a new office in Paris.

Zendar has a diverse and dynamic team of electrical, mechanical, RF, algorithms and software engineers with deep background in sensing technology.

Zendar is backed by Tier-1 VCs, has raised more than $25M in funding and has established strong partnerships with industry leaders.

Our team has more than doubled in number over the last year as our technology has gained traction in the automotive and agriculture industries.

Upon completion of the internship, you will:

  • Be responsible of the development and testing of a radar algorithm or tool in Python or C++
  • Contribute to the product technology development, working on real sensor data and scenarios
  • Present your work to the rest of the team, at the interface between our R&D and highperformance software engineering teams
  • Develop strong applied mathematics and software engineering skills
Previous experience with radar is not required, but a strong mathematical background is necessary. This will be a temporary (4 to 6 months) full-time non-exempt position.

Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a Bac+5 general engineering degree, with a specialization in computer science, applied mathematics or a related field
  • Strong mathematical skills, most importantly linear algebra, statistics and optimization, and familiarity with signal processing
  • Experience programming in Python or C++ (you will interact with both during your internship)
  • Strong communication and crossfunctional collaboration skills

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with professional software development tools, such as source control (git), unit testing, Linux environment, complex codebase
  • Experience with sensor data and/or sensor fusion (Kalman filtering, IMU-GPS fusion, etc)
  • Experience in computer vision (visual odometry, feature extraction, etc)

Working at Zendar Includes:

  • Opportunity to make an impact at a young, venturebacked company in an emerging market
  • A working place in the center of Paris (4)
  • Competitive hourly rate
Zendar is an equal opportunity employer.
