With around 150 employees, kiz is the second largest centralinstitution at Ulm University and provides services for research,teaching, studies and administration in the areas of library,information technology and media.

As part ofthe "bwCloud3" project, the existing Infrastructure as a Service(IaaS) service is to be supplemented with explicit servicecomponents, thereby creating a range of value-added services, suchas a connection to the campus management system or a platform for astate solution BigBlueButton (bwBBB). In addition, the aim is toimprove the climate compatibility of the bwCloud through variousmeasures, to ensure consistent IT security at a high level and toestablish the bwCloud in a sustainable business model.

Yourprofile:

• Completed academicstudies (university diploma or master's degree) in computer scienceor a comparable subject
• in-depth knowledgeof cloud technologies (esp. OpenStack), methods of virtualizationof software containers, virtualization techniques (esp. QEMU, KVM),UNIX operating systems (Linux; Debian or RedHat based), networktechnologies (esp. VLAN, VXLAN, IPv6) and tools for the automatedadministration of systems (esp. Ansible)
• Very good language skills in German and English
• Ability to work in a team, under pressure, independentworking style and strong communication skills

Your tasks:

• Further development and continuous operation of the nationwidecloud infrastructure
• Operation andcontinuous updating of the "bwCloud3" service components
• 2nd level support
• Expansion of the "bwCloud3" service offering to include Containeras a Service and other offerings as required
• Procurement and development of new systems
• Continuous maintenance and servicing
