Job Description:
The focus of this role is to take part in the management and monitoring of a large and expanding portfolio of In Payment and Deferred Annuity Longevity Swaps together with a smaller portfolio of Non-Standard Annuity deals.
Core responsibilities will include:
- Support the methodology and modelling implementation of existing and new reporting standards
- US GAAP, SII, LDTI + others as required.
- Production of quarterly reserves on applicable bases
- Preparation and signoff of the SII result including the sensitivities and Analysis of Change together with the US GAAP/stat accounting production
- Preparation of supporting documentation (e.g. unit testing, basis checks etc.) to validate work produced to line manager & various auditors.
- Drafting of the Annual Assumption Review of base mortality, mortality improvements and other relevant assumptions on the portfolio
- Provide insight into observed experience, propose base changes where relevant and quantify financial impacts.
- Provide insight on the portfolio performance against other data sets where possible, e.g. industry stats, population data or other similar products.
- Work within the defined control framework and contribute to the enhancement of this framework
Qualifications:
Working Experience
- Prior reserving experience under SII, US GAAP, IFRS17, or other reserving standards
- Knowledge of Longevity/Annuities business.
- Previous experience with actuarial projection systems
Technical skills
- Knowledge or a desire to learn Actuarial modelling systems (MoSes/Risk Agility/AXIS) and the R coding language
- Strong IT and data management skills;
- Reinsurance knowledge is an asset
