Alstom is recruiting a Hydrogen System Engineer for its Railway Rolling Stock division located in Paris

  • Saint-Ouen to develop railway projects for the European and international markets.


You will work, multi-cultural and dynamic context, within our engineering project team, to develop and deliver our future H2 powered trains to our customers.


Your responsibilities:


As Hydrogen System Engineer, you are responsible of the development of Hydrogen storage & distribution system, of the related function at Train level.

You endorse the system compliance to the train level requirements.


To do so, you shall:
- specify the function and its performance at train level,
- define the architecture of the function, how the system achieves the function, including its interactions with the other systems as contributors,
- consider safety & certification requirements, especially, and ensure system compliance to them,
- specify the system itself, refining the train level requirements and considering other design constraints,
- flow-down the expert requirements, covering technical transverse fields, such as electromagnetic compatibility, resistance to corrosion or eco-design for examples,
- deliver the Technical Purchase Specification of your system, and technically manage the system supplier, tracking the compliance to your requirements,
- define the functional and electrical interfaces of your system,
- lead your system integration to train, tuning it when needed,
- build and get executed the validation plan, to make the compliance demonstration,
- write the test specifications and approve the test reports,
- lead your system reliability growth, when needed, during operational service.

As Hydrogen System Engineer, you will:

  • share your specific knowledge of Hydrogen technologies with the engineering team,
- contribute to the Failure Mode and Effect Critical Analysis of your system,
- propose system architecture and design solution for potential Tenders or Research & Development programs.


Your Profile:


Engineer with mechanical and/or chemical backgrounds, with:

  • + 2 years of engineering experience in Hydrogen storage or distribution,
- + 5 years of engineering experience, more generally speaking, preferably in the railway industry, with
- system engineering, with performance, function & integration responsibilities,
- a whole development cycle experience, through all development phases,
- an engineering leading position, with multiple and multidisciplinary partners
- or an equivalent experience in another industry

  • Fluent English and French speaking,
  • Ability for business travels, in France and abroad, and for shortterm missions, during system and train validation phases.
