DUTIES
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
- Validates acceptability of official documents (visas, IDs, birth certificates, etc.)
- Starting with newly accepted students
- Document tracking within the SLATE system
- Attends Orientation (SIS Corner) to welcome the new students and verify their visas, boarding passes, entrance stamps
SIS DAILY TASKS
- Checks students' residency status in France (NON-EU, NON-EU minors, EU)
- Informs the NON-EU how to legalize their stay in France under a student status (NON-EU minors and NON-EU over 18)
- Follows up with the NON-EU students while the residency renewal is being processed and how to secure a physical appointment to retrieve the new card
- Interaction with the French Authorities (Préfecture de Police) when assistance is needed
- Participates in the dataentry and maintenance of information regarding student immigration records such as residency permit expiry dates, passport information, citizenship, etc.
- Followsup regularly with students (managing communication) in regard to their student immigration status such as expiry dates as well as other required regular followup (valid residency to approve cultural trips abroad, internships and thesis requests, LOA
- Leave of Absence)
- Collects and maintains a large amount of confidential information (passports, bank and housing information for residency renewals, photos)
- Interacts with the French Consular Authorities (French Consulates abroad, Campus France, VSF) when assistance is needed
- Serves as backup during the SIS Coordinator's absence:
- Liaises with French Consular Services if necessary when students encounter difficulties obtaining visas
- Validates visa requests for new students/ returning students who have been issued a student visa

- Assigned by the supervisor
QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the American system of higher education
- High school degree required, higher education diploma preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good organization skills
- Good competency with computers (Microsoft Office, Internet, Databases, TEAMS, SLATE)
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to deal effectively with people and within a team
- Good mastery of English and French (native or nearnative command of English )
