Job Description (Roles and Responsibilities)


The France Network has a unique Estate including the historic Residence and Embassy in the heart of Paris, Consulates in Marseille and Bordeaux and the Office and Residence in Strasbourg for the UK Delegation to the Council of Europe.

Our prestigious estate is the foundation for delivering HMG's objectives in France.

As the
France Network Estates Officer, the jobholder will work with the Head of France Network Estates and Estates Manager to ensure a strategic focus on our Estate, including our offices and our owned residential properties.


Main tasks

  • Act as main point of contact and provide estates support to our network offices in Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux and UK Delegation to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
  • Liaise with our Facilities Management company and Estate Operations regarding works updates.
  • Liaise with building management for regional offices as required.
  • Complete quarterly visits to all offices/Residences providing written reports to the Estates Manager and Head of Estates.
  • Follow up on Post Compliance Assessment visits completing recommended actions, working with the Estates Manager and Estates Operations teams.
  • Ensure Fire and Health and Safety regulations/checks are in place and are being adhered to as required and reporting findings to the Fire Safety Manager.
  • Arrange relevant training under H&S, First Aid and Fire requirements for all offices.
  • Other corporate services tasks as and when required including but not limited to: preparing documentation for the Health and Safety Committee and Estates Meetings, H&S investigations, minute taking and tasks to support both the Estates Manager and Head of France Network Estates.
Essential qualifications, skills and experience

  • Fluency in English and French (C1 CEFR level*)
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office tools
  • Good Organisational and time management skills
  • Welldeveloped customer service orientation, with a commitment to continuous service improvement
  • Discretion and excellent communication skills
Desirable qualifications, skills and experience

  • Experience in a busy customer facing role
  • Experience of dealing with estate management
  • Possess an enthusiatic, teamplayer attitude and have a strong sense of customer service
  • Experience or training in Health and Safety and Fire work

Other benefits and conditions of employment


This is a full-time (35h/Week), and permanent position, work pattern to be occasional remote working, maximum one day a week, may be possible depending on operational requirements but the estates nature of the role means that it is essential to be on site most of the time to perform the role set out above.

Job holder will be required to travel frequently around the France Network.
